POSITION: Soccer Instructor-- P/T Hourly

REPORTS TO: Soccer Coordinator

SUMMARY

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for a Soccer Instructor at the ComEd Recreation Center. Under direct supervision, the Soccer Instructor develops class curriculums and provides soccer instruction to participants between the age group of 3-13 years old with parent participation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

+ Instructs scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; provides adequate and effective lessons

+ Prepares detailed lesson plans and activities

+ Leads the instruction of soccer participants, according to the approved lesson plan, in a fun environment while teaching specific soccer techniques

+ Ensures that the team has adequate equipment for practices and games including soccer balls, nets, cones, etc.

+ Maintains a positive, safe, and nurturing environment for both participants, guests, and parents

+ Ensures that safety standards are met, and department and facility policies are adhered

+ Provides positive and professional communication with participants parents involved in program

+ Ensures the safety of all participants during classes and performances, and report any problems, unsafe conditions, behavior issues and accidents to the management

+ Helps players develop their skills through drills, scrimmages, and other exercises

+ Maintains Class log and attendance

+ Other related duties as assigned

WORK HOURS

Employee must be available to work weekdays in the evening(s) and on weekends in the morning(s). Weekends are required for this role.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand and possible sit for long periods of time. Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, and occasionally must aide or assist participants. The employee must have the endurance to complete the instruction of the assigned fitness program.

QUALIFICATIONS

+ Minimum of one year teaching experience

+ Experience working with students ages 1 – 5

+ Minimum age of 18

+ Early childhood experience not required, but preferred

+ Ability to maintain a positive and SAFE environment for all students

+ Be able to communicate with parents and guests

+ Have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
