    Job Description

    AECOM** ’s **Water Business line** is seeking a talented **Water-Wastewater - Water Resources Engineer** to support our Water, Wastewater, and Water Resources practice based in the **New England Area - Chelmsford, MA, Boston, MA, or Rocky Hill, CT.

     

    The selected mid-level engineer will have a primary focus on water/wastewater/water resources utility planning, design, and condition assessment. The candidate will perform a variety of tasks, including site investigations, field measurements, utility investigations, capacity studies, condition assessments, conceptual through final design, cost estimating, and construction administration/observation. The successful candidate will have ample opportunities to develop professionally through frequent collaboration with senior engineers, project managers, clients, regulatory agencies, and industry-leading subject matter experts, and attendance at professional conferences.

    The responsibilities of this position to support state, municipal, and private clients include, but are not limited to:

    + Provide technical support for a variety of utility design related projects, including treatment plants, pump/booster stations, water line and collection line design, rehabilitation, master planning, and construction administration.

    + Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings.

    + Work under supervision of a project manager in the water/wastewater/water resources practice or senior level team members.

    + Utilize basic engineering principles, judgment, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems.

    + Work on routine or detailed engineering assignments involving calculations and engineering analyses.

    + Perform work with increasing responsibility.

    + Propose approaches to solve new problems.

    + Identify discrepancies in outcomes, results, and analysis of engineering tasks.

    + Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.

    + Provide guidance to entry-level engineers.

    + Record and interpret data, conduct analyses, prepare reports, and compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.

    + Perform data gathering site visits, field measurements, mapping, and observations during construction.

    + Providing construction support for review of shop drawings, request for information, and site visits to the construction

    + Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawing.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements

    + **BA/BS degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline** **+2 years** of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

    + 2+ years of experience in planning, modeling, and/or design of water, wastewater, and stormwater utility projects.

    + **Engineer-in-Training (EIT)** or ability to obtain in 6 months.

    + Valid U.S. Driver’s License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records Review.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Progressive experience with water/wastewater utility planning, modeling, condition assessment, and design.

    + Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, AutoCAD, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models).

    + Demonstrated time management skills, work ethic, and attention to detail.

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    + Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with technicians, designers, engineers, and project managers for the preparation of high-quality work products.

    + Ability to communicate and coordinate with clients, subconsultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public as may be necessary to accomplish assigned objectives.

    + Ability to work productively in a collaborative team environment and demonstrate growth potential as well as a desire to learn.

    + Detail oriented while still able to understand/comply with the big picture/goals of a project.

    + Ability to multi-task and work independently.

    + Flexible – can adapt to shifting priorities / work schedules.

    Additional Information

    + This position does not offer relocation assistance.

    + Sponsorship for US Employment Authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.

     

    Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $90,000.00 - $110,000.00.
