Position Overview

Shaw Industries is looking a Reliability Tech C to s erve the Tufting/Warping Department by making necessary repairs and/or adjustments to tufting machines for the purpose of maintaining their efficient and accurate operation.

I. Essential Duties:

+ Make necessary repairs to tufting machines and warpers.

+ Perform preventative maintenance on tufting machines and warpers.

+ Make major changes of blades, loopers and needles on tufting machines

+ Make necessary speed adjustments to tufting machines

+ Obtain dissection weight checks for the purpose of determining the nature of tufting machine adjustments and make the needed adjustments pending the analysis of the dissection weight checks

+ Make necessary tufting machine adjustments to accommodate style changes

+ Troubleshoot machines and warpers for mechanical issues.

+ Perform minor and major overhauls of tufting machines when machine shop work is not required

+ Repair mending guns and other Tufting/Warper Department equipment.

+ Attend periodic departmental meetings as well as training that will foster continued job improvement

II. Non-Essential Duties:

+ Serve on task forces and committees as necessary

+ Perform other non quality-related duties as directed by Supervisor

Physical Requirements:

+ Sit or stand intermittently for at least 8 hours

+ Climb steps several times per day

+ Walk through plant several times per day

+ Withstand exposure to changes in both temperature and humidity

+ Apply forces to tools necessary to accomplish the work

VI. Other Requirements

+ Communicate to other employees both in speech and in writing

+ Ensure the work environment is free of harassment and that employees feel free to express problems and concerns
