    Xylem is looking for a seasoned people leader with a service background who can lead transformative change, deliver on financial commitments, and provide visible leadership to 22 onsite staff at our Buena Park, CA Field Service branch. Position is onsite 5 days a week

     

    This role will require a strategic, service and operational leader who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and lead by example. The Senior Service Manager of our Buena Park Service Branch will be responsible for providing strategic level management to field service professionals in the Orange County/Los Angeles area, and drive significant revenue, with responsibility for attraction, retention, engagement, performance and development of employees and customers.** **This role is involved in setting department goals, managing expenses, is actively involved in workforce planning, expected to address/resolve employee relations issues and translate customer requirements into workforce plans and objectives. This role creates onsite visibility into KPIs and metrics and can provide input into metrics to management, should show the desire and ability to grow and develop, effectively applies all technical and operational requirements and actively leverages region wide resources, partners with all stakeholders to ensure successful customer and business outcomes. This role also ensures product, system, and water quality and is responsible for monitoring/maintaining appropriate inventory levels for complex or multiple sites

     

    ***Critical to have a service minded background with mechanical aptitude

    Operational and strategic management

     

    Ensures cost/revenue support the financial goals of the P&L Demonstrates leadership behaviors across organizational boundaries of candid communication, collaboration, developing people, embracing DEI and innovation

     

    Demonstrates high impact culture through innovation, accountability and empowerment

     

    Is agile in responding quickly to customer issues

     

    Provides proactive direction to commercial teams to ensure service center objectives are achieved

     

    May provide direct supervisor to sales and other commercial colleagues

     

    Travel Requirements:** **Some local travel required within the region and customer sites (** **Xylem Vehicle Assigned** **)

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree preferred; mechanical or equivalent military experience; or applicable industry equivalent experience in lieu of degree

    Experience Requirements:

    Ability to obtain all required customer clearances

     

    Industrial or commercial process water experience preferred

    Clean driving record

    2 to 4 years of technical work experience or 5 years of industry specific experience

     

    Combined with 5-7 years of leadership/service management experience

    Skill Requirements:

    Proficiency with computers and business software, such as Microsoft Office, Skype, Oracle/SAP, cloud-based solutions

     

    People management

     

    Mechanically minded and/or with knowledge of water systems is very helpful

     

    Ability to communicate up/down/across

     

    Ability to lead and motivate teams

     

    Demonstrates critical thinking and complex troubleshooting to guide and advise team members and customers

     

    Ability to defuse situations at a customer location or any internal issues.

    The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000 plus bonus. Company vehicle will be assigned.   Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.  At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
