• Senior Infrastructure Engineer

    Job Description

    The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise IT infrastructure systems to ensure reliability, scalability, performance, and security. This role works closely with IT leadership, security, application, and networking teams to support business operations and strategic initiatives. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer also provides advanced technical expertise, mentors junior staff, and leads complex infrastructure projects.

    Key Responsibilities

    Infrastructure Design & Implementation

     

    - Architect, deploy, and manage enterprise systems including servers, storage, virtualization platforms, cloud services (AWS, Azure), and networking infrastructure.

     

    - Ensure infrastructure meets business continuity, disaster recovery, and high-availability requirements.

     

    Operations & Maintenance

     

    - Monitor system performance and proactively address bottlenecks, outages, and capacity planning.

     

    - Perform patch management, system upgrades, and lifecycle management of hardware and software.

    Security & Compliance

    - Implement and enforce infrastructure security best practices including access controls, encryption, vulnerability remediation, and compliance with policies (e.g., SOX, HIPAA, ISO27001).

     

    - Partner with security teams to mitigate risks and support audits.

     

    Collaboration & Leadership

     

    - Work closely with cross-functional IT teams (networking, database, DevOps, application) to align infrastructure services with business needs.

     

    - Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and act as escalation point for critical incidents.

     

    Project Delivery

     

    - Lead or support large-scale infrastructure initiatives such as data center migrations, cloud adoption, SD-WAN implementation, and enterprise storage refresh.

     

    - Prepare technical documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

    Skills and Requirements

     

    - 7+ years of progressive experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or related IT roles.

     

    - Proven experience managing enterprise-scale environments across multiple data centers or cloud regions.

     

    - Strong expertise in Windows/Linux server administration, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and storage technologies (SAN/NAS).

     

    - Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid infrastructure integration.

     

    - Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls, VPN, SD-WAN).

     

    - Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Python).

     

    - Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Splunk, SolarWinds, Datadog, etc.). - Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect

     

    - AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional

     

    - VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

     

    - Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

    - ITIL Foundation or higher null
