Job Description
Are you willing to learn and collaborate with a team of talented system and software engineers on the modernization of hardware and migration of software for a US Navy supported FMS program? If so, come join BAE as a computer and systems hardware engineer.
This position is for an individual who will be a part of an integrated program team working on a naval defense system for weapons control.
The individual must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, and make value added assessments.
The candidate will support the maintenance of existing legacy systems hardware and interfaces and the upgrade to a new computer hardware and software environment. Working collaboratively with software developers and systems engineers, the individual will support the design, installation, and maintenance of a new target software development facility. The individual may also be required to support both US and foreign test facilities.
The candidate will support program performance development and problem resolution, potential interface design changes, and various test phases that include test planning, test procedure development, test conduct, regression testing, and data/test results analysis. The focus is on delivering the system and its rehosted software through the development lifecycle of the weapon system program and follow-on integration testing in a field deployment environment.
The candidate must be able communicate with diverse sets of external and internal engineers and support staff to drive the Weapons Direction System (WDS) rehost and development from concept to implementation and test.
Occasional travel within the US and OCONUS will be required to various facilities to participate in system integration testing.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
BS degree from an accredited university in a STEM discipline and 4 years of practical experience,
OR, in lieu of a degree at an accredited university, 6 years of experience maintaining systems hardware
Experience with maintaining, repairing, and testing computer hardware, software, and networks.
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment to ensure system performance, reliability, and network security
Supported development of technical documentation and procedures to enhance system usability and compliance
Knowledge of software migration and hardware modernization environment
Knowledge of hardware quality assurance methodologies
Must be able to support US and foreign travel
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret clearance
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
BS degree at an accredited university in a STEM discipline and multiple years of weapon/combat systems experience
OR, in lieu of a degree at an accredited university, 6 years of experience maintaining combat/weapon systems hardware
Experience with maintaining, repairing, and testing computer hardware, software, and networks of existing and new software development sites.
Provide engineering expertise to support a Systems Integration Test and Evaluation (SITE) Integrated Product Team (IPT) with systems engineering efforts
Technical support of COTS and MOTS equipment, including test and evaluation
Identifying system technical performance measures
Demonstrated experience with best hardware test practices
Experience in developing reports (eg. Customer required reports, trouble reports, quality reports, and trip reports)
Ability to effectively communicate via oral and written communications with senior management and technical staff
Working knowledge of hardware import and export requirements
Current Active DOD Secret clearance
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $95106 - $161680

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
