    LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE: Pavilion PACU

    Job Summary

    As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), you will play a crucial role in the recovery of patients following anesthesia administration. Working under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians, you will provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to patients as they emerge from anesthesia, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the recovery process. Your attention to detail, clinical expertise, and commitment to patient well-being will contribute to the overall success of our PACU unit.

    Responsibilities*

    1. **Patient Monitoring and Observation**

    2. **Documentation in Michart**

    3. **Patient Advocacy and Support**

    4. **Assistance with Patient Care (toileting, ambulation, repositioning, wound care & dressing changes, etc.)**

    5. **Postoperative phone calls**

    6. **PIV insertion and removal**

    7. **Arterial line blood draws and removal**

    8. **Lab draws**

    9. **Reviewing AVS (After visit summary) and discharge instructions**

    10. **Patient transport**

    Required Qualifications*

    Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Michigan.

     

    Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

     

    Strong communication and teamwork skills.

     

    Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision.

     

    Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic healthcare environment.

    Physical Requirements:

    + Ability to stand, walk, bend, push and lift throughout the shift.

    + Capable of lifting and moving patients with assistance as needed.

    + Visual and auditory acuity necessary to monitor patients and interpret medical equipment alarms.

     

    NOTE: In order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment.

    Desired Qualifications*

    + Minimum of one year of experience as a LPN

    + Previous experience in a hospital setting.

     

    Work Schedule

     

    Hours: 40 hours/week

     

    Shift: Days; 10-hour shifts; 0530-1600 (may include scheduled weekend shifts)

    Background Screening

     

    Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
