    Sr. Cloud Security Engineer

    Role Definition:

    This role will serve as the primary Cloud Security Engineer focused on AWS, Azure & GCP. This is an opportunity to collaborate with multiple teams designing and hosting cloud solutions across Caterpillar. As a Cloud Security Engineer, you will provide Cybersecurity representation to the cloud operations teams, cloud architects, and business partners to ensure enterprise security requirements are built into the services and solutions being deployed.

    What You Will Do:

    + Advise cross-functional teams on secure cloud architecture, identifying design gaps and embedding security into evolving cloud-based solutions.

    + Develop and implement cloud security postures for Azure and AWS using industry-standard frameworks and best practices.

    + Collaborate with Cloud Architects and Ops teams to establish scalable, secure, and repeatable cloud deployment methodologies.

    + Continuously assess and enhance cloud security by monitoring vendor updates, industry trends, and emerging threats.

    What You Have:

    + Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field

    + Experience in cloud security engineering

    + Cloud operations experience in AWS or Azure.

    + Deep knowledge of Cloud network architectures, including routing, NSGs, firewalls, DNS, load balancers, and hybrid connectivity.

    + Understanding OAuth2/OIDC, SAML, and modern identity governance with respect to cloud

    Top Candidates Will Have:

    + Cloud security certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Security Engineer, etc.) and/or Professional information security certification (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, etc.)

    + Development experience or foundational knowledge building, deploying, and operating container-based applications using Docker, Kubernetes, serverless containers, container registries, service mesh, etc.

    + Experience using or integrating solutions with log aggregation and governance tools including tools such as AWS CloudTrail, Azure Monitor, Splunk, ELK/EFK, ArcSight, etc.

    + Familiarity with Cybersecurity Incident Response Lifecycle

    **Additional Info** :

    + The primary locations for this position are: East Peoria, IL, Nashville TN, or Dallas, TX

    + 5 days onsite is MANDATORY.

    Summary Pay Range:

    $126,000.00 - $189,000.00

     

    Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
