    About this role

     

    The Dental Hygienist provides dental care and promotes dental health by performing a variety of tasks underthe supervision of a licensed dentist. They assess patient needs, clean teeth, take and develop dentalx-rays,and educate patients on proper oral hygiene. They adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and protocolsrelated to dental hygiene and maintain accurate patient records.

     

    What you bring to the table

    Education

    + Graduate from an accredited Dental Hygienist school

    Experience

    + Two (2) years’ experience

    + Previous correctional/detention facility experience

    + Five (5) years’ experience

    Licenses/Certifications

    + Unrestricted current Dental Hygiene license, certification or registration in state of practice - must maintain all certifications, educational requirements, licensing, etc.

    + Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS certification through AHA

    + Current (and must maintain) lifesaving ACLS certification through AHA

    What you will do

    + Prepare treatment room and select materials and equipment for dental hygiene visits.

    + Provide oral hygiene and postoperative instructions to patients and answer their questions.

    + Maintain and sterilize dental instruments, document dental hygieneservices and maintainconfidentiality of patient information.

    + Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhere to infection-control policies and protocols,and conserve dental resources.

    + Ensure proper functioning of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and evaluating new equipment and techniques
