The Systems-ETL-Data Engineer is a high-level staff member, delivering solutions, as well as leading others in the delivery of solutions that benefit Premier Health. This position is responsible for the delivery of movement of data between systems and up to/within the data lake environment. This position will also deliver reports, dashboards and other analytical solutions of very high complexity. This position will also deliver engineering solutions with python, SQL, cloud technologies, and other advanced analytics programming languages. These solutions are cost-effective, secure, and produce high levels of customer satisfaction. The position allows for the continued development of the employee’s information system knowledge, skills, and business process understanding. The position requires frequent direct interaction with a wide and varied Agile teams as well as traditional healthcare IT systems. The ability to effectively influence within the peer group, Product Managers, and IT leadership is necessary.

Essential Duties & Functions:
1. Primarily accountable to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders to design solutions that are cost-effective, secure, and produce high levels of customer satisfaction. Internal interaction is frequently with both operational end users of information technology and with all levels of leadership, physicians, and customers. Frequent external involvement with vendor personnel is required in the following areas, including but not limited to: hardware/software analysis, software problem resolution, technology assessment, and project planning.
2. Collaborating with Enterprise Architects and working within general guidelines based on the IT strategy, recommend and design information systems that meet departmental objectives within functional areas of responsibility.
3. Mentors less senior team members.
4. Provide advanced technical expertise in the development, maintenance, and issue resolution of information systems. Execute assignments, ranging from moderate to large, that affect many hospital/ corporation employees and are vital to the operational/financial management of the organization.
5. Conceptualize and create development and operational models and standards that encompass the Premier ETL philosophy and direction, including the ownership of a “blueprint” by which to guide future development and decision-making.
6. Develop complex and critical ETL routines.
7. Prepare integration and acceptance test plans. Develops, tests, and implements reporting and analytics solutions that meet departmental objectives within functional areas of responsibility.
8. Executes Project Management Methodology and adherence to all change control policies. Provides project management on medium to large analytics projects.
9. Meets all project deadlines through collaborative work process.
10. Responsible for researching and learning about the use of analytics tools and industry best practices to deliver solutions.
11. Sources data from approved databases.
12. Demonstrates progressive growth in productivity and delivery as capability and capacity develops. Growth expected in advanced writing of SQL code, Python code, independently using visualization tools, ETL tools, and creating end user reports and dashboards.
13. Researches, understands, and promotes Premier Health IT policies, procedures and practices, especially related to incident handling and service level agreements
Education
Minimum Level of Education Required: Associate degree
Additional requirements:
Type of degree: Bachelor’s Degree in IT with 7 years of IT experience or a related Bachelor’s Degree with 9 years of IT experience is required or an Associate Degree with 12 years of IT experience
Area of study or major: Related degrees include BSN, BS Medical Technology, BS Radiology, BS Mathematics, BS Engineering, BS Biomedical Engineering, BS Laboratory, Pharmacy, or BS Medicine

Licensure/Certification/Registration
Will attend formal training and become certified in at least two Epic Clarity data models within two years of hire.
Will attend Azure and Python training within two years of hire.
Experience
Minimum Level of Experience Required: 7 - 10 years of job related experience
Prior job title or occupational experience: Information technology
Prior specific functional responsibilities: Five years of data warehousing/business intelligence experience is required. Must have a minimum of 2 years of project lead experience coordinating multiple entities or multiple teams in either a tactical or strategic project. Must have a minimum of three years of experience with an ETL tool such as Microsoft SSIS or Informatica. Experience writing advanced SQL code is required.
Preferred experience: Business analysis and requirements gathering, knowledge of health care data and data models
