Overview
**Schedule:** Day Shift
**Purpose Statement/Position Summary:** As a part of the Ambulatory Float Pool, provide smooth outpatient flow resulting in optimum patient satisfaction and clinic operation. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate appointments and assist patients and families as needed. Participate in a variety of duties associated with daily clinic preparation process, from customer service, message distribution, procedure scheduling, encounter registration, and referrals management. Must be highly flexible, adaptable, enthusiastic, have a proactive approach, work efficiently and effectively under pressure in a team environment. Performs clerical tasks associated with patient registration, check-in/out procedures, scheduling, verifying patient appointments, and collecting patient co-pay or deductibles. Providing patients and families with a positive experience at CHLA. Supports the ambulatory clinics in multitude of duties including but not limited to processing referrals, answering and screening incoming calls, taking and relaying messages to ambulatory clinics as necessary, etc.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:
**Required:** 1+ years experience in customer service, preferably in a medical front office setting. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and telephone manner. Must be highly flexible, adaptable, enthusiastic, have a proactive approach, work efficiently and effectively under pressure in a team environment.
**Preferred:** Previous experience in float pool setting. Bilingual English/Spanish. Knowledge of major insurance plans and types of coverage provided, including government health. Must be comfortable with computers and medical terminology. This position requires traveling to all CHLA clinics (including offsite) depending on need. Hours may vary depending on assignments.
**Education/Licensure/Certification:** High school diploma or GED required.
Pay Scale Information
$43,680.00-$61,953.00

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
