    What we’re looking for:

    Indorama Ventures- Intermediate Chemicals is looking for a Senior Business & Commercial Manager to lead the Global Performance Excellence/PMO and Digital Manager to join our Intermediate Chemicals team located in The Woodlands, Texas. As the Senior Manager, you will lead and coordinate asset and marketing activities (forecasts, budgets, demand/supply planning, market intelligence, pricing, analysis, reports and other commercial activities) to optimize profitability for Ethylene, EO and its derivatives, and MTBE which are part of the Intermediate Chemicals vertical and report to the SVP and Business Head of the Intermediate Chemicals.

     

    What will be expected of you?

     

    • Manage profit/loss for the Intermediate Chemicals Business (Ethylene, EO, EG, MTBE). Develop strategies to optimize these assets at Port Neches, Clear Lake, TX, and Westlake, LA. Provide monthly financial demand forecasts and work with finance to develop monthly financial forecasts. Communicate marketing outlooks (dynamics and pricing) with business leadership and with downstream partners. Assist with monthly financial close. Develop annual budgets (pricing premises, margins, volume metrics). Assist with CAPEX activities. Participate in the preparation of the business reports.

    • Participate on the Intermediate Chemicals business teams. Coordinate, lead and sponsor these business teams, continuously communicating importance of EHS issues, project efforts, current profitability and direction of markets, as well as plans to optimize profitability within corporate and market constraints.

    • Participate in planning process to help drive improved tactical planning and collaborative decision making to maximize profits. Participate on EO/EG team, providing business direction and support.

    • Participate in managing and leading commercial and asset optimization activities for the Ethylene, EO, EG, MTBE portion of the Intermediate Chemicals business. Sets business KPI’s aligned with the business vertical priorities and ensures employees who are reporting to this role are aligned in their personal goals and objectives. Lead and Manage EG sales via contracts and spot sales.

    • Monitor impact of various sales and tolling approaches to movement of EO and EG to account for both site cost optimization and fluid market conditions. Anticipate unusual supply or demand events and react to unplanned events. Help develop and implement allocation programs for EO to balance needs of the many users and maximize returns to EO. Work with co-producers to facilitate purchases, buy/sells and/or exchanges.

    • Evaluate Ethylene, EO, EG, and MTBE markets continuously for pricing management and strategies. Assist Purchasing in evaluating, negotiating, and administering ethylene purchase contracts. Assist direct reports with daily product management issues, including supply and cost of any purchased EG and EO products, for re-sale or internal uses, as well as spot sales of EG to manage working capital while optimizing ethylene chain profits. Manage all cracker by-product streams and ensure reliable outlets and maximizing returns.

    • Lead the buy/sell activities for ethylene partnering closely with procurement and supply chain on purchase requirements and supplier relationship management.

    • Manage the sale of by-products out of the 3 facilities.

    • Develop and maintain key relationships - with internal and external customers, managing

     

    expectations, negotiating and administering contracts and pricing; with co-producers to facilitate purchases, buy/sells or exchanges; with key marketing consultants to better understand market dynamics to capitalize on opportunities.

     

    What are we looking for in the candidate?

     

    + BS Chemical Engineering or Chemistry or Business degree required. MBA or equivalent preferred.

    + 10-15 years chemical or related process industry experience in increasing responsibility. assignments in manufacturing, supply chain, commercial, procurement, or logistics with a minimum of 5 years in a strategic commercial role with experience in commercial negotiations and people leadership

    • Self-motivated and driven business leader.

    • Strong financial acumen and understanding of the petrochemical industry.

    • Strong communication skills and ability to network with strategic customers and suppliers.

    • Strong analytical skills to understand market drivers and financial performance improvement opportunities.

    • Must have a high level of proficiency with Internet, Email and Microsoft Programs.

    • SAP experience is preferred but not required.
