    Job Summary:We are a CAP accredited, 24/7 lab that is responsible for over 1 million tests annually for the central Maine Community. MGH is a teaching lab. We have three amazing campuses in the Augusta and Waterville areas.

    We are creating this new position to support students and staff. The individual is required to grow and expand as the program does. Adaptability and collaboration are key!

    Job Description:

    The Role:

    The Clinical Instructor teaches theory and skills and evaluates student performance in the student skills lab in accordance with the standards set forth by the National Accrediting Agency for the Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).

     

    Job duties will be split 50% clinical/50% instructional. Day shift hours, 8am-4pm. Every third weekend rotation required.

    The Work:

    + Assists in preparing, organizing and delivering of materials for effective teaching of skills for all MLT courses.

    + Presents laboratory exercise skills within the lab science program and teaches students to utilize theory to analyze, resolve and evaluate outcomes for complex technical problems.

    + Provides primary and timely counseling of students based upon performance in both the affective and cognitive domains during the clinical laboratory sessions as appropriate.

    + Perform all primary responsibilities of the underlying job profile in one or more sections of the laboratory.

    You Have:

    + Possesses knowledge of, and has expertise with, clinical services provided by department, including: Chemistry, Hematology/Coagulation, Transfusion Services, Microscopy, Microbiology, Immunology, Pre-analytical processes

    + Provides a classroom environment conducive to learner growth

    + Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills

    + Action oriented, innovative thinking, and flexible

    + Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred

    + 4+ years of clinical lab experience required (within the last 6 years)

    + Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills

    + Ability to navigate communication with leaders & students from varying backgrounds

    + Prior leadership experience preferred

     

    Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

     

    Scheduled Work Shift: Day (United States of America)
