Overview

We are seeking a n Operating Room Technician , sometimes referred to a s a Surgical Techn ician or Scrub Tech . An OR Tech will prepar e , maintain , and assist in the operating room (OR) to ensure surgeries run smoothly and safely , including management surgical instruments . You will be part of the surgical team, working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses to create a safe and efficient environment for surgery , helping surgeries proceed smoothly.

Bonus Options:up to a $10K bonus

Shift’s Available: Days – Monday through Friday (6:00am – 3:00pm), with on-call requirement

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

+ P repare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, sterilizing equipment, and arranging necessary supplies such as surgical drapes, sponges, and gowns

+ E nsure all equipment is functioning properly before the surgery begins, this may include surgical lights, suction machines, and monitoring devices

+ A ssist with preparing and draping the surgical site on the patient to maintain a sterile field, helping prevent infections

+ H and instruments, sponges, and other supplies to surgeons and nurses as needed throughout the procedure, know the functions of each tool, and anticipate what the surgeon may need next

+ M onitor the sterile field and ensure it remains uncontaminated, if anything becomes unsterile, it is their responsibility to quickly replace it or inform the team

+ C ount all instruments, sponges, and other materials before and after surgery

+ R eset the operating room after surgery, ensure it is stocked and organized for the next procedure, following strict protocols for safety and hygiene

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers . You must have:

+ H igh school diploma or equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014

+ G raduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years experience (surgical setting preferred)

+ E xperience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties, (i.e., GYN, General and Plastics)

+ E xperience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (i.e., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro. Etc.)

+ C urrent BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
