Duties Description ITS provides operational support to state agencies on a 24x7x365 basis; some positions may be required to provide this critical service at any time.Under the direction of Manager of Information Technology Specialist 1, SG 27, within the Chief Technology Office/Business Application Services/ Health and Human Services Portfolio the position will require technical skills in addition to communication skills. The candidate will be responsible, at times, for leading a group of staff and interacting with other application support, customer, and IT staff.Specific duties include, but are not limited to: • Maintain and support Child Care Server Infrastructure • Maintain Desktop Inventory and support software • Supervise and mentor staff• Maintain Oracle environments • Maintain and support custom internal applications built with .Net Core, MVC, MVVM, SSRS, .Net Framework and Entity Framework• Maintain and support Data transmissions for existing applications via Akana, Sterling, OPCON and Azure Dev OPs• Assist in transitioning existing legacy applications to more modern technologies.• Create complex PL/SQL objects and SQL queries.• Preform the full range of supervisory duties• Triage and complete product repair and enhancement requests• Write complex .net system code and Oracle PL/SQL to fulfill agency requirements• Assists subordinate staff in technical problem resolution as necessary• Perform Data Analysis and Data Architecture

Minimum Qualifications Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 4, SG25 OR in a position at the SG23 level or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law OR in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades. Note: If you are on the examination eligible list for the position title in this location, you do not need to respond to this posting unless you are also eligible for appointment by one of the qualifications listed above. Candidates must be reachable on the current eligible list for this title in order to be list appointed.
