Description
We are seeking a creative and customer-obsessed design leader to define and shape the future of customer-facing digital experiences at One Medical and Amazon Health Services. The Principal UX Designer will be a key voice in developing an experience strategy and bringing it to life, from architecture to visuals. You will create elegant, intuitive user interfaces that meet unique customer needs by working with research, product, tech, clinical, and operations stakeholders by bringing excellence and a strong point of view to all that you do.

Designers at Amazon Health Services are architects of beautiful, intuitive and delightful experiences. They passionately work collaboratively alongside research, product, tech, clinical, and operations partners to change healthcare by ideating, inventing and crafting elegant solutions that empower customers (patients, caregivers, clinicians and operations partners). They use human-centered, tech forward, design process to turn research insights and product goals into thoughtful new solutions that raise the bar on interaction, product design and visuals patterns and push boundaries on what customers focused healthcare should feel like. They thrive in a highly ambiguous, yet highly regulated, environment where they challenge the status quo, ask hard questions and raise the bar for other designers. As a designer, you’re shaping the culture of how as much as delivering a product.
Key job responsibilities
As a Principal UX Designer at Amazon Health Services, you will:
* Define and deliver the vision for innovative new solutions that are AI powered customer and patient experiences
* Champion AI in the design process, by building prototypes that advance the craft by staying true to customer needs
* Lead cross-team customer-centric initiatives from concept development to delivery at the intersection of healthcare, design, business, and technology
* Translate ambiguous, technical problems and model capabilities into elegant, shippable designs
* Establish and evolve interaction models, visual language, and multi-surface design systems
* Rapidly prototype (flows, wireframes, hi-fi mocks, interactive demos) to validate with patients and customers
* Present at the right altitude: from hands-on design reviews to exec-level narratives and demos
* Model excellence in design and craft by launching experiences that visually provoke
* Embody empathic and optimistic leadership working closely with other disciplines and partners
* Provide launch-ready designs; partner closely with engineering through delivery/QA
* Make others successful in through sharing your design and technical knowledge

You'll be at the forefront of reimagining healthcare experiences, combining technology with human-centered design.
Basic Qualifications
* 10+ years as a user experience designer, interaction designer, or similar role with work grounded in a human-centered design practice
* Experience designing AI forward experiences
* Ability to juggle multiple priorities and effectively deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
* Experience with consumer brands and experience design, and a passion for storytelling
* Finely tuned analytical skills. You pinpoint the important information within a sea of quantitive and qualitative data and have the ability to connect the dots to an experience narrative that inspires the organization to drive innovation in healthcare
* Fluency in design best practices and effectively communicate strategic and tactical recommendations based on data
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences leveraging data to tell the story.
* A strong portfolio of research-based human-centered design that demonstrates solving complex challenges with innovative, customer-centric solutions. Demonstrates proficiency and strengths in areas of interaction, service, systems, and visual design
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience providing and effectively communicating strategic and tactical recommendations based on data
* Experience preparing and presenting work products (e.g., designs, demos) to executive-level stakeholders
* Experience leading through design strategy to delivering UX solutions that scale to meet a large set of customer needs

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $147,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $244,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
