The New York Post video team is seeking a **Sports Video Producer (M-F, Day Shift)** to help
create compelling, shareable videos about sports and own the conversation about New York
Sports. We’re seeking a digital video maestro who can help manage sports video production in a variety of formats: shorts, interstitials, news of the day to platform-specific content, podcasts and short form video series.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the sports video team in producing original, high-quality content from concept to
publication, balancing leadership with hands-on production.
• Manage and mentor a team of associate producers, editors, and production assistants
while contributing directly to scripting, editing, and production as needed.
• Oversee the full production workflow, including pitching, scripting, directing talent,
editing, and publishing, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and on time.
• Work with editors, reporters, and on-camera talent to align video output with sports
coverage priorities, shape scripts, refine delivery, and keep content sharp and engaging.
• Lead creative brainstorming sessions to develop one-off videos, recurring series, and
sponsorable franchises that resonate with a wide sports audience.
• Optimize all video content for digital and social platforms, applying best practices for
titles, metadata, thumbnails, playlisting, and syndication.
• Guide the production of platform-specific content, including versions for YouTube,
Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, Snapchat, and emerging channels.
• Apply deep knowledge of New York City sports, major leagues, fantasy, esports,
gambling, and viral trends to help shape coverage and strategy.
• Use analytics and performance metrics to evaluate success and refine video strategy
across platforms.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining creativity, speed, and
editorial quality.
Requirements:
• 6+ years of experience in a fast-paced online news or sports media environment with a
proven track record of producing high-quality video content.
• Strong leadership skills, including managing production teams and end-to-end
workflows, with the ability to step into editing and production as needed while effectively
delegating to ensure team success.
• Deep knowledge of NYC sports, including major leagues, fantasy, esports, and emerging
trends, with strong editorial judgment and sports production experience.
• Demonstrated ability to pitch, script, and produce compelling video content, from
one-offs to recurring franchises, while collaborating effectively with on-camera talent to
refine scripts and delivery.
• Hands-on video editing expertise, with proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro required;
working knowledge of Photoshop and After Effects is a plus.
• Strong digital instincts and experience creating and optimizing video for social platforms
(YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, X), with familiarity in YouTube best
practices, SEO, metadata, and discoverability strategies.
• Ability to analyze audience metrics and apply insights using tools such as Parse.ly,
CrowdTangle, WordPress, and Brightcove to drive strategy and growth.
• Excellent time management, communication, and collaboration skills, with proven
success working across editorial and cross-functional teams.
• Must be able to work onsite in New York, Monday through Friday, with occasional
evening or weekend work as needed.

Pay Range: $85,000 - $100,000
