    Job Title: Technician

    Job Description

    The Technician is responsible for loading and unloading equipment, performing basic preventative maintenance, and conducting minor repairs to ensure equipment operates efficiently and experiences minimal downtime.

    Responsibilities

    + Load and unload equipment safely and effectively.

    + Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment.

    + Conduct minor repairs to avoid equipment downtime.

    + Ensure all operations are conducted in the safest manner possible.

    Essential Skills

    + 1-3 years of experience in repairing and maintaining Power/HVAC/Compressor/Pump equipment and accessories.

    + Basic knowledge of generators, power distribution, A/C, Heater, HVAC, and Diesel driven pumps.

    + Understanding of diesel equipment, electronics, and hydraulics.

    + Operational process/system aptitude.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + EPA Universal certification.

    + Experience in troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, generator, hydraulics, and electronics.

    Work Environment

     

    The role requires physical activity such as bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 25 pounds or more. The work is performed both indoors and outdoors as required. Initially, work will be conducted in a shop at the Chesapeake location, with subsequent assignments at Newport News Shipyard to maintain rental HVAC systems.     This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
