Production Worker

Pay: $22-23/Hour

Shift: 7AM-3:30PM

Job Description

Join a dynamic team in a building products wholesale environment, specifically within the door shop. This role involves handling various finishing lines for doors and offers excellent opportunities for growth and skill enhancement.

Responsibilities

+ Lift and stage approximately 100-130 doors per day, each weighing around 60 pounds, with occasional additional lifting of up to 80 pounds.

+ Operate a forklift to move staged doors.

+ Palletize and prepare finished orders for shipment.

+ Work collaboratively with a team to create and build products.

+ Maintain a safe and clean work environment by enacting company policies and abiding by safety regulations.

+ Analyze and resolve work problems efficiently.

+ Progress to reading and understanding orders, assembling pre-fabricated doors to meet specifications, and reviewing finished goods for accuracy and quality.

+ Utilize power tools such as mills, saws, and joiners, and pneumatic tools like nail guns.

Essential Skills

+ High School diploma or GED required.

+ Ability to regularly lift/move/manipulate up to 60 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.

+ Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

+ Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

+ Ability to read and interpret verbal instructions, diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

+ Proficiency in reading a tape measurer accurately to 1/16 inch.

+ Basic arithmetic skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Preferred: 1 year of experience with hand and power tools.

+ Military experience and a consistent work history are preferred.

Work Environment

The door shop is a clean yet somewhat noisy environment where teamwork and efficiency are key. The role operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Steel-toed boots are required for safety. Employees can expect merit-based raises and overtime opportunities upon direct hire.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tacoma, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
