    Job Description

    We are seeking a highly experienced Software Engineer with over 8 years of professional expertise in writing spacecraft flight software using C and C++. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded software development, cross-compilation, and software/hardware integration. This role requires proficiency in Rust, Python, Git, Docker, Linux, and experience with either AWS or Azure. Familiarity with spacecraft sensors, including RGB and infrared cameras, lidars, and laser range finders, is essential. Experience with the NASA flight software framework is highly desirable. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. The candidate must be a U.S. Person and available for software/hardware testing and integration in Denver.

    Responsibilities

    + Develop and maintain spacecraft flight software using C and C++.

    + Perform embedded software development and cross-compilation.

    + Integrate software with hardware components.

    + Utilize Rust, Python, Git, Docker, and Linux for software development.

    + Collaborate on cloud-based solutions using AWS or Azure.

    + Work with spacecraft sensors, including RGB and infrared cameras, lidars, and laser range finders.

    + Engage with the NASA flight software framework.

    + Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

    + Participate in testing and integration activities in Denver.

    Essential Skills

    + 8+ years of experience in spacecraft flight software development.

    + Proficiency in C and C++.

    + Experience in embedded software development and software/hardware integration.

    + Proficiency in Rust, Python, Git, Docker, and Linux.

    + Knowledge of AWS or Azure.

    + Experience with spacecraft sensors and NASA flight software framework.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Bachelor's degree in a related field.

    + Must be a U.S. Person ( U.S. Citizen or Permanent-Resident Green-Card Holder).

    + Availability for testing and integration in Denver.

     

    Work Environment

     

    This position offers a hybrid work environment based in South Denver, providing a blend of remote and on-site work for optimal flexibility and collaboration.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Denver, Colorado.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $80.00/hr.
