Electrical Design Engineer (Data Center Projects | NYC Hybrid)

We’re hiring an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support high-profile data center projects in a fast-paced, design-driven environment. This is a hybrid role based in NYC, offering the chance to contribute to multimillion-dollar builds while working alongside a tight-knit team of architects, engineers, and project leaders.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for designing electrical systems for complex building projects, performing detailed engineering calculations, and ensuring compliance with local and national codes. You’ll use AutoCAD MEP and Revit to produce sharp, buildable drawings and collaborate across disciplines to deliver high-performance infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

+ Perform load calculations, energy analysis, and equipment selection

+ Design electrical layouts including switchgear, transformers, panels, UPS systems, and emergency generators

+ Calculate power and lighting loads for new and existing systems

+ Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with safety and performance standards

+ Design life safety systems such as fire alarms

+ Manage time and budget to meet project deliverables

+ Produce electrical drawings using AutoCAD MEP and Revit

Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

+ 5–8 years of experience in electrical design for building systems

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD MEP and Revit

+ Experience with load calculations and managing small to mid-sized projects

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr.
