    Job Title: Distribution Design Supervisor

    Job Description

    The Distribution Design Supervisor will manage a team of seven designers, including four lead designers, three junior designers, and one permitting associate. This role involves overseeing design and construction operations projects and maintaining a balanced workload. The supervisor will ensure projects meet NESC and construction specifications while maintaining high productivity.

    Responsibilities

    + Oversee and manage design and construction operations projects.

    + Handle group milestones, metrics, and staff morale.

    + Create project plans and manage project schedules.

    + Assign work orders and jobs to staff, utilizing employee strengths and knowledge.

    + Provide technical support for design, land rights, and permitting issues.

    + Update the distribution system geospatial information system (GIS).

    + Provide day-to-day work direction and leadership, prioritizing safety.

    + Support distribution design employees through goal development and performance reviews.

    + Participate in corporate cost savings and process improvement goals.

    + Learn and utilize the proprietary design platform.

    Essential Skills

    + Associates or Bachelors Degree in construction technology, GIS/Geography, electrical or engineering.

    + 5+ years of recent experience in design engineering or distribution design.

    + Current and valid driver's license.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Open to candidates with 5+ years of relevant experience in a cooperative, utility, or consulting firm specializing in distribution projects.

    + Experience with NESC, NEC, right of way, and procurement.

    Work Environment

    This position follows a hybrid policy, primarily onsite with the ability to work from home. Standard hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Employees will have access to a company vehicle for personal use, with applicable tax on mileage. The role allows for impacting electric projects, such as transmission lines, overhead and underground electric distribution facilities, and renewables projects.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Ramsey, Minnesota.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $89000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
