Job Title: Project Architect/Project Designer Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Project Architect or Project Designer to lead and support the design and execution of complex federal and mission-critical projects. This role requires a deep understanding of secure facility design, government standards, and high-performance environments such as data centers, embassy compounds, and defense-related infrastructure.
Responsibilities
+ Lead architectural design efforts from concept through construction for federal and mission-critical facilities.
+ Develop and manage project documentation including schematic designs, design development, and construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
+ Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, MEP, civil, and security consultants to ensure integrated design solutions.
+ Conduct code analysis, zoning research, and ensure compliance with federal design standards (e.g., UFC, GSA, DoD, OBO).
+ Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and stakeholder presentations.
+ Oversee construction administration, including site visits, RFIs, submittals, and punch lists.
+ Support the development of furniture layouts, equipment planning, and post-occupancy evaluations.
+ Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
+ 7+ years of experience in architectural design and construction documentation.
+ Experience in project management and construction administration.
+ Ability to produce construction drawings and documentation.
+ Strong understanding of federal design standards and secure facility design.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ BA/BS in Architecture or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
+ 5 years of relevant professional experience.
+ U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.
+ Licensure preferred (RA or on path to licensure); additional accreditation is a plus.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arlington, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
