About Dr. Elliott Dreznick, a highly respected, board-certified Gastroenterologist affiliated with Catholic Health in Port Jefferson Station, NY, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate PA or NP to join his established and patient-focused practice. Position Summary Catholic Health is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our outpatient Gastroenterology team. The ideal candidate will work closely with our gastroenterologists and support staff to provide comprehensive GI care in a fast-paced, patient-centered practice environment. This is an excellent opportunity to grow within a well-established and respected GI program that serves a diverse patient population across Long Island. Key Responsibilities Conduct initial and follow-up evaluations for patients with gastrointestinal conditions Take detailed patient histories, perform physical exams, and develop treatment plans Manage common GI issues such as GERD, IBD, IBS, liver disease, and GI bleeding under physician supervision Order and interpret diagnostic tests including labs, imaging, and endoscopic procedures Provide pre- and post-procedure education and care Collaborate closely with supervising gastroenterologists and multidisciplinary care teams Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system Participate in quality initiatives, clinical meetings, and ongoing education Support and uphold the mission and values of Catholic Health Qualifications Current and valid NY State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant National certification (ANCC/AANP for NP; NCCPA for PA) BLS certification required; ACLS preferred Minimum 1 year of experience in gastroenterology or internal medicine preferred (new grads with relevant clinical rotations or background will be considered) DEA Strong clinical judgment and communication skills Comfortable managing chronic GI conditions and urgent GI concerns in the outpatient setting Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative care team Commitment to compassionate, mission-driven care
