Application Developer Sr Principal

+ Website development

+ Programming batch jobs that extract reports back to the customer

+ Application builds and deployment in support of testing and production environments

+ Windows Server support

+ Software updates, server setup and configuration

+ Remediation of priority security vulnerabilities

+ Design documentation

HOW THE APPLICATION DEVELOPER SR ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

+ Applies advanced knowledge to all phases of the software development lifecycle.

+ Applies advanced knowledge to analyze user/business needs and functionality to plan and design software systems to meet those needs.

+ Applies advanced knowledge to create a wide variety of models and diagrams that show programmers the software code needed for an application.

+ Applies advanced knowledge to application updates, refinement, testing, and debugging to meet business needs.

+ Provides advance analysis for reports on software project specifications, activities, or status.

+ Provides advanced guidance on the system, application or system for optimal documentation and future maintenance and updates.

+ May coach and provide guidance to less experienced professionals.

+ May serve as a team or task lead.

+ Work closely with team in problem solving and providing operational support.

+ Work directly with the customer in requirements gathering and operational support efforts.

+ Work with technical services group in vulnerability remediation efforts.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

+ Education: Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field.

+ Required Experience: 8+ years of related experience with at least:

+ 3 years’ experience in JAVA

+ 2 years’ experience in web development

+ 1 year experience with SQL

+ Required Skills and Abilities:

+ Strong problem-solving skills.

+ Flexible to support (semi-regular weekend server patching verification etc.)

+ Required Technical Skills:

+ JAVA programming language

+ SQL

+ Web development

+ Struts 1.2.x navigation framework

+ HTML, Java Server Pages (JSP), JavaScript, CSS

+ Spring Framework/Spring Batch

+ Eclipse IDE

+ Apache Tomcat Server setup and configuration

+ Location: Remote

The likely salary range for this position is $119,000 - $161,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Paid leave and paid holidays are prorated based on the employee’s date of hire. The GDIT Paid Family Leave program provides a total of up to 160 hours of paid leave in a rolling 12 month period for eligible employees.
