Job Title: IntraAortic Pump TechDepartment: Operating Room Support Staff Location: Rochester Regional Hospital - Rochester New York Hours Per Week: 40 hours per weekSchedule: Monday - Friday 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
On Call: One week per month (end of shift to the following day).
SUMMARY: Responsible for providing patient care of a technical nature as a member of the Cardiac Procedural Team. Performs set up and operation of intra-aortic balloon pump in the Operating Room, ED and Cardiac Cath Lab. Assists the Cardiac Team in the daily functioning of the Cardiology procedure rooms. Is cooperative, courteous and helpful to all members of the hospital team/OR staff as well as patients and family members .
Working exclusively with the Cardiothoracic Surgery population.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Clinical Practice /Leadership
+ Provides technical care as an intraoperative team member in accordance with hospital policy/procedures and with departmental, area and national standards.
+ Performs operational assistance and set up of intra balloon pump on critical patients as needed.
+ Performs the duties of an IABP Technician according to departmental policy and procedures with 1% accuracy as documented by DON/Chief CT.
Materials Management
+ Provides assistance in the maintenance of material resources.
+ Washes blood from used instruments/equipment prior to returning to reprocessing/storage area.
+ Returns stock items to appropriate storage space.
Budget Maintenance
+ Uses budgeted resources – personnel, supplies and equipment judiciously.
+ Chooses necessary supplies to meet patient needs and physician preferences
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ High School graduate or graduate of an approved school for cardiovascular technology, preferred
+ 1-3 years of previous experience
+ Strong analytical, computer, and communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ Prior Patient Care Tech experience

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant.
