This position provides a high-quality catering service for banquets, concessions, coffee cart, and events.

Essential Duties

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

+ Serves food to guests with a high level of customer service.

+ Must understand and practice the concept of teamwork.

+ Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas of the Convention Center.

+ Must strive to provide guest with a memorable experience and exceed their expectations by anticipating their needs.

+ Assist with collecting all banquet equipment including flatware, China, glassware, and serving pieces needed for each event.

+ Prepared garnishes, beverages, condiments, and breads.

+ Clean and fill salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes, creamers, etc.

+ Assist with the preparation and set-up of the event room when necessary.

+ Prepare tables with place settings as instructed.

+ Establish and maintain positive client relationships.

+ Breakdown tables and banquet equipment after each event.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

+ Daily lifting up to 20 lbs., constant reaching, stooping, standing and walking. Must be able to balance serving trays and have good manual dexterity.

+ Required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events; talk and hear.

+ This position requires work inside and outside of the building, parking lots included and some exposure to adverse conditions.

+ Must be able to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. High noise level.

+ Knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety practices.

+ Ability to demonstrate excellence in everything, and continually seek improvement in results.

Qualifications

+ High School diploma/GED required

+ One year’s experience in the food industry.

+ Ability to work with limited supervision.

+ Must have a professional attitude and appearance.

+ Will need food handler’s certification
