Division : Within the Nursing Department at ELMHS, Located in Jackson, LA
The Mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation, treatment, habilitation, and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions, jail-based evaluations, supervised group home and residential programs, forensic evaluation, care, custody, and aftercare; intermediate and long-term psychiatric care are coordinated with the total system of care in Louisiana.
ELMHS is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to come and join the team in the Nursing Department as anRN Director of Nursing A!
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse plus one of the following:
Six years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A bachelor's degree in nursing plus five years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A master's degree in nursing or public health plus five years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A doctorate in nursing or public health plus four years of experience as a licensed registered nurse.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
In this role, you will:
+ Receives administrative directives from the Executive Nurse Administrator (RN Director of Nursing B).
+ Assumes responsibility for the duties of the Executive Nurse Administrator (RN Director of Nursing B) in his/her absence on a 24-hour basis for the East Division of ELMHS.
+ Plans, directs, and implements nursing services for the East Division of ELMHS in accordance with LDH, OBH, Civil Service, and designated regulatory/accrediting agencies, assuring legal/ethical standards of care delivery. Provides nursing administration resources for all shifts.
+ Recommends staff promotion, disciplinary action, and other personnel matters. Completes Performance Evaluations on assigned personnel in a timely manner, in compliance with established deadlines. Reviews Master Staffing Schedules and assures appropriate nursing coverage is available. Reviews and determines staffing requirements for professionals and paraprofessionals based on acuity and available resources. Reviews leave requests and approves/disapproves leave of assigned staff. Receives and gives nursing Hand-Off in compliance with policy.
+ Maintains complete and accurate employee records. Assures compliance with the Louisiana State Board of Nursing licensure and standards of care of nursing personnel. Maintains current and accurate contact information on subordinates and updates as needed.
+ Serves as liaison for patients, family members, professional staff, and other interested parties to promote mental health and provides supportive educational information.
+ Responsible for the performance Improvement initiatives for the East Division.
+ Collects, compiles analyzes data with submission of complete and accurate reports within designated deadlines.
+ Reviews and approves the Performance Improvement initiatives for individual buildings, with ongoing oversight to assure appropriate collection of data and timely submission of reports to Nursing Administration.
+ Monitors reports and variances in nursing standards to trend and identify areas in need of education or other proactive solutions. Devises interventions, monitors progress, and measures outcomes to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
+ Engages Managers and supervisory personnel in problem-solving and provides supervision for the execution of interventions with attention to improving outcomes.

+ This position has an SER of $54.87 hourly and $4389.60 Biweekly
+ This position is eligible for the following premium pays (Per Hour Physically Worked):
+ Facility Longevity – Starting at $2.00
+ Recruitment/Retention - $8.00
+ Recruitment/Retention – $2.00
+ On Call Pay - $2.15
+ Weekend On Call Pay - $2.25
