Minimum Experience 0 Summary The Federal Reserve Board (Board) provides students opportunities for career success. The Board’s Internship program is designed to provide valuable work experience for undergraduate and graduate students considering careers including, but not limited to, economics, finance and accounting, information systems, and data analysis. The Board believes that by combining academic endeavors with project-related work experience, qualified and capable college students can gain the practical knowledge need in a competitive global job market. Internships are paid positions with salaries commensurate with credit hours; internships may be in-person, remote or hybrid, depending on the needs of the team. Employment in the Board’s internship program is granted to U.S. citizens. Applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university and returning to continue studies after the internship. Interns receive a syllabus or research project plan outlining their projects and goals for the internship. Interns are assigned a supervisor or mentor to guide them through their internship, and regular check-in meetings with their manager to manage performance expectations and assist with learning goals. Interns have access to a wide range of training programs and events for professional development purposes. Position Requirements   Expected Projects The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System’s (Board’s) Office of Inspector General conducts audits and evaluations of the Board and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB’s) programs and operations to assess and promote economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in these programs and operations while helping to prevent and detect fraud, waste, and abuse. The IT Operations Intern will learn to perform daily IT operational tasks, assist with daily OIG IT environment efforts, and assist with documentation. Assist in creating custom lists, features, web parts, event handlers, and workflows. Assist with inventory management. Learn and assist users with various needs, OS to general hardware support. Active contributor in policy and other support documentation generation. Participates in team meetings. Suggested Major(s)/Minor(s): Computer science, information technology, software programming, information security, or related fields, either graduate or undergraduate  Required Skills and Knowledge: Strong oral and written communication skills. Data analysis and research skills, as well as intellectual curiosity and professional skepticism. Well organized. Self-motivated and resourceful critical thinker willing to independently solve problems through self-explored attempts prior to requesting assistance. Deep knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Access, with a desire for or some understanding of Power BI. Preferred Skills: Experience with operating systems; foundational knowledge of SharePoint, web development, and computer hardware; Generative AI and ChatGPT; understanding of cloud technologies, such as Azure and AWS Required Documents: Resume, two letters of recommendation  Location : The internship location is in Washington, DC, primarily onsite.
