Position Summary Information
General Summary
This opportunity is available only to current employees of WSSC Water.
TheManagement Support Specialistindependently performs critical administrative and professional tasks in support of WSSC Water’s Office of Supplier Diversity & Inclusion office.
Essential Functions
+ Plans, organizes, and coordinates various projects, programs and services involving diverse administrative operations
+ Administers or manages specific projects, programs and/or services
+ Conducts research and analytical studies on a variety of programs and issues
+ Performs detailed fact gathering, data compilation, and report writing on budgets, organizations, workforce management, operations, and administrative systems
+ Conducts analysis to improve process efficiencies and workflow, simplify procedures, and implement cost reductions
+ Analyzes operating practices such as recordkeeping systems, forms control, office layout, personnel requirements, and performance standards to create new processes or revise established procedures
+ Prepares and presents reports, including conclusions and recommendations for solution of administrative problems or procedures
+ Prepares, monitors and controls annual budget submissions and provides up-to-date status reports on expenditures, projects, and related items
+ Reviews memoranda, reports, and similar material for the purpose of summarizing and making recommendations concerning same
+ Coordinates the schedules of several professional/management individuals and arranges meetings with external parties
+ Monitors supplier diversity email account for internal/external stakeholder requests
+ Sends e-alerts to vendor community
+ Assists with outreach activities in support of initiatives for OSDI programs
+ Updates supplier information via supplier portal
+ Participates in the contract review process
+ Identifies and acts upon opportunities to improve or update SLBE / MBE training program materials and processes
+ Coordinates with contracting personnel, OSDI staff and SLBE / MBE firms to satisfy existing contract SLBE / MBE requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
+ Thorough knowledge of the principles and methods of public administration
+ Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of budgetary preparation and control
+ Thorough knowledge of the principles and methods of data gathering and compilation
+ Ability to write clear concise reports, memoranda, directives, and letters
+ Ability to develop comprehensive plans under general supervision and with minimal direction
+ Ability to plan, assign and supervise the work of others
+ Ability to meet with the public to discuss problems and complaints tactfully, courteously, and effectively
+ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Minimum Education, Experience Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ 3+ years of project coordination and/or team lead responsible experience in the field of public administration, business/economics, communications, or related field
Or
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ 7+ years of project coordination and/or team lead responsible experience in the field of public administration, business/economics, communications, or related field
Additional Requirements
Proficient use of MS Office suite applications
Preferences
+ Advanced proficiency in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
+ Proficient in Microsoft Project
+ Project management experience
Salary$76,144 - $129,651
