Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in public service through cutting-edge technology? The City of Columbus Auditor’s Office is seeking a Dynamics 365 (D365) Systems Analyst to help shape the future of City finance.
With over 600 active City users and 3,000+ vendors in our D365 ecosystem, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our Dynamics 365 Finance, Supply Chain Management, and Commerce/Point of Sale platforms. You’ll also contribute to innovative initiatives that align with our bold goal: to become the state-of-the-art model for government finance technology across the U.S.
The Dynamics 365 Systems Analyst will provide functional support for the Dynamics Solution Manager and end users of Dynamics 365. This position is currently hybrid/ remote with some in-office days in Columbus, Ohio every week.
S alary Range: $78,957 to $95,000
Support & Systems Stewardship
+ Resolve Help Desk tickets related to Dynamics 365 Finance and Commerce platforms.
+ Manage user creation, access, and training assignments.
+ Conduct security audits and ensure compliance across user roles.
+ Deliver responsive support via email, phone, and Webex, ensuring superior customer care.
+ Monitor SendGrid/Auditor Email utilities and handle bounce backs, unsubscribes, and alerts.
+ Troubleshoot ad hoc operational issues for City and vendor users with precision and empathy.
Testing, Automation & Innovation
+ Collaborate on regression test scripts and perform system/data validation.
+ Execute regression testing prior to Dynamics releases and build automated test cases.
+ Analyze new features in Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Commerce to assess impact.
+ Contribute to Power Platform and AI agent initiatives that drive efficiency and innovation.
+ Crosstrain on critical system functions to support business continuity and resilience.
Training & Knowledge Sharing
+ Develop and maintain training materials and user documentation.
+ Provide hands-on end-user training and support.
+ Create engaging training videos for the City Dynamics Community.
+ Participate in User Group meetings, offering insights and preparing content.

Education & Core Experience
+ Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
+ Experience in delivering functional support to end users in ERP, SCM, CRM, HCM, or related systems.
+ Familiarity with ERP platforms and financial management systems functionality in areas such as accounting, accounts payable, budgeting, and/or procurement.
Technical & Analytical Skills
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data modeling).
+ Strong analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and propose scalable solutions.
+ Understanding of security roles, user access management controls.
Collaboration & Communication
+ Proven ability to work cross-functionally and align with team goals and priorities.
+ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present and train users across all levels.
+ Ability to influence, negotiate, and build consensus across departments.

Bonus Qualifications
+ Experience with Dataverse, Power Automate, or Canvas apps.
+ Familiarity with Agile methodologies or DevOps practices.
+ Certification in Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Power Platform Fundamentals.
+ Exposure to SendGrid, Webex, or other enterprise communication tools.
+ Functional expertise with Dynamics 365 Finance, Supply Chain Management, and/or Commerce/Point of Sale.
+ Familiarity with public sector accounting, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, procurement and point-of-sale.
+ Experience contributing to Power Platform and AI agent initiatives.
+ Experience with automated testing tools, Power Platform.

Under general direction, is responsible for serving as an accounting/auditing/payroll/finance specialist within the City Auditor’s Office; performs related duties as required.
Examples of Work
(Any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all of the duties that may be performed.)
Serves as a subject matter specialist within the Auditor’s Office in such areas as accounting, finance, payroll, debt management, and financial information systems;
Oversees and reconciles cash activities with the City Treasurer on a daily basis;
Assists management in the development and documentation of policies and the implementation of new procedures;
Prepares complex financial and statistical accounting reports and budgets for the City of Columbus;
Coordinates specialized payroll functions and audits payroll records;
Coordinates with Citywide grant reporting and compliance;
Coordinates with the City’s debt management;
Assists in the preparation of the City’s audit and financial reports;
Processes legislation for the Auditor’s Office;
Manages technology and/or carries out functions required of the financial information systems;
Conducts or assists in conducting special projects initiated by or coordinated through the City Auditor’s Office.
