Job Description
One of our largest health plan clients is seeking a Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician to join their Behavioral Health Department. This role is responsible for providing clinical assessments, screenings, and care coordination for members with mental health and/or substance use needs.
You will triage incoming referrals, coordinate with county and community-based partners, and work directly with our behavioral health vendor and internal departments to ensure members receive timely, appropriate services. You’ll also participate in interdisciplinary care team meetings, provide clinical consultations, and support quality improvement projects.
This is a highly collaborative role requiring experience with complex behavioral health needs and a passion for serving diverse, underserved populations in Los Angeles County.

Skills and Requirements
Licensure: Must hold one of the following active, current, and unrestricted California licenses:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
Education: Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology or related behavioral health field.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience working with:
Severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI)
Substance use disorders
Homelessness or vulnerable populations
Prior experience providing behavioral health assessments, screenings, and care coordination.
Core Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication
Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills
Ability to navigate and coordinate across health systems and community partners
Familiarity with Medi-Cal/Medicare regulations
Understanding of the behavioral health landscape in Los Angeles County
Experience collaborating with county agencies and health plan departments Bilingual proficiency in any of L.A. Care’s threshold languages:
Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Tagalog, Armenian, Farsi, Arabic, Khmer, Russian, Vietnamese
Familiarity with:
Community-based behavioral health providers
Electronic health records (EHRs) and case management tools
Experience conducting provider education or facilitating trainings on behavioral health topics
Knowledge of quality improvement practices and involvement in audit or project work null
