    Description

    **Job Summary** :

     

    To layout, install, repair, and maintain plant electrical systems\.

    Job Responsibilities:

    + Installs low voltage electrical power distribution, lighting, and signaling systems in accordance to the National Electrical Code\.

     

    - Verifies that medium and low voltage electrical protective devices are operating safely\.

     

    - Understands complex electrical plans, submits material lists, and plans installation of electrical projects and work orders\.

     

    + Locates unusual and difficult electrical malfunctions in plant facilities medium and low voltage distribution equipment using a high degree of ingenuity\.

     

    - Be proficient with a wide range of test equipment\.

     

    - Safely makes repairs to malfunctioning electrical distribution equipment\.

     

    + Uses lift equipment or ladders to access overhead equipment\.

    + Guides and instructs one or five equal or lower grade employees\.

    + Responsible for quality of own work\.

    + Performs other duties as required\.

    Qualifications

    **Education** :

     

    Requires a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification plus one to two years electrical trades training\. Requires the use of shop math, wiring diagrams, handbook formulas, electrical trade knowledge, and thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code\. Requires

     

    applicable Journeyman Electrician certification\. Must obtain and maintain any necessary training and licensing, including but not limited to Forklift Operation Certificate and Aircraft Operating Area License\.

     

    **Experience** :

     

    Requires 3\-5 years of electrical maintenance work in an industrial setting\.

    Working Conditions:

    Somewhat disagreeable due to the variety of work locations, both indoors and outdoors\.
