Summary:
Meta is seeking an Experience Interaction/UX Sound Designer to join our experience Creative Audio team. Our mission is to create meaningful experiences that enhance human connection through the power of audio. Your focus will be on defining audio and haptics experiences for Meta’s Family of Apps (Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger, Threads and MetaAI). You will partner with a team of Interaction Sound Designers who are responsible for helping build brand recognition, and enhance the overall brand experiences across all of our products. As an Interaction Sound Designer, you'll be part of a team of highly skilled creatives with a broad range of experienced backgrounds and industries who are dedicated to crafting unique audio experiences. You'll have access to state-of-the-art recording facilities at our internal studios. The role combines functional sound design thinking and execution with proven experience breaking new ground, including new and virtual mediums. You will be involved in all aspects of the sound design process, from concept to iteration and refinement, to preparing and implementing assets, to testing performance and approving designs for public release. In this role you'll provide creative feedback and work closely with cross-functional teams, collaborating closely with partners across multiple areas of focus and disciplines to define the sonic landscape of a wide range of software and hardware experiencesAs a centralized team, we touch nearly every product Meta produces, making our team integral to the company's success. Required Skills:
Interaction/UX Sound Designer - Family of Apps Responsibilities:
1. Lead and drive complex interaction sound design + haptic projects through completion
2. Craft unique, memorable, and landmark sonic experiences for the 3+ billion people who use Meta technologies
3. Use your proven understanding of interaction sound design to define and distill broad concepts into actionable deliverables
4. Contribute to the development of sound design systems by establishing audio design standards, guidelines, and best practices, while being one of the go-to experts for all things sound, including design standards, best practices, and implementation guidelines
5. Act as a source of truth for all things sound including sound design, design standards, best practices, and implementation guidelines
6. Execute in a time-sensitive and highly fluid environment
7. Collaborate closely with other sound designers to ensure systems alignment across products
8. Collaborate closely with all partners to determine scope of work, planning and execution of sound design and implementation
9. Influence key business decisions within the organization and product/ business area, leveraging clear data-driven decision making
10. Influence and create unique, memorable sonic experiences in order to maintain quality and leverage existing resources for product consistency and efficiency
11. Develop and maintain a consistent sonic brand identity across key Meta touchpoints
12. Give and solicit feedback from other sound designers in order to continually raise our bar for quality
Minimum Qualifications:

13. 10+ years of professional sound design, including interaction (User Experience) sound, and sound implementation experience, focused on high-quality sonic experiences in real-time interactive products
14. Demonstrated experience creating bespoke Interaction (UX) sound design for high-profile products
15. Experience with sound design synthesis, latest plugins and foley recording
16. Experience in music production
17. Experience working with Pro Tools and/or other professional DAW’s
18. Understanding of human-centered design
19. Understanding of Design Systems and systems thinking
20. Understanding of haptics design patterns and principles
21. Understanding accessibility requirements
22. Experience managing, scoping and communicating project milestones and deliverables
23. Experience testing implementation of sounds
24. Experience troubleshooting and problem solving complex technical issues
25. Demonstrated time-management and organizational skills to meet delivery specifications and deadlines
26. Experience communicating effectively with technical teams and software developers to ensure seamless and efficient sound implementation

27. Video editing skills (Premier Pro, Final Cut, Avid, etc)
28. Experience with audio middleware (Wwise, FMOD)
29. Knowledge of acoustics, equipment set ups and calibration
30. Experience mixing in a variety of mediums, such as mobile and spatial audio
31. Experience in designing UI/UX audio for Augmented Reality(AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) experiences
32. Experience with game engines (Unity, Unreal)
33. Understanding of programming and technical sound paradigms in VR, AR or other immersive mediums
34. AR audio experience with AR design tools (Spark, Snap Studio)
Public Compensation:
$163,000/year to $224,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
