    Job Summary

    The Materials Planner supports new product development and product sustaining tasks. The Materials Planner provides direct daily support to Engineering groups by focusing on shipping & receiving, sourcing, technical specifications, systems-entry, coordinate & implement custom parts shipping and address shipping discrepancies.

     

    This position will be based onsite at our Vertiv Thermal Lab - 1050 Dearborn Dr., Columbus, OH 43085.

    Responsibilities:

    + Manage inventory / stocking plans and inventory control for parts / components / assemblies

    + Provides sourcing support for components and materials for the New Product Development Team.

    + Responsible for shipping & receiving; PIT / forklift experience required.

    + Work closely with design engineering groups to ensure necessary components are ordered, arrive on time, and meet expectations.

    + Keep updated shipping records and work with custom local project releases and deliverables.

    + 5S for new and existing components throughout the lab. Maintain an inventory database of lab resources.

    + Work with Lab Supervisor, Test Engineers, Test Technicians, and Development Engineers as needed on daily basis with ordering, receiving, organizing, and all other aspects related to sourcing components, materials, instrumentation, general supplies, and other misc. lab items.

    Requirements:

    + Minimum High School Diploma; Associate's Degree a plus

    + PIT / Forklift experience for Shipping and Receiving

    + Experience with Inventory control

    + Prefer experience with ERP systems such as Oracle for ordering and receiving.

    + Good Microsoft Office skills including Office, Excel, and Word

    + Basic working knowledge of mechanical concepts and ability to verify incoming components are accurate and correct per engineering prints.

    + Data-entry systems familiarity & Inventory experience - Oracle, Agile, etc.

    + Good planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills.

    + Ability to multitask and operate in cross functional Global Development Teams.

    + Proficient in English

    + Excellent communication skills with a professional attitude towards customer relations.

    + Self-directed, good problem-solving skills.
