As a Business Process Specialist at Caterpillar, you will lead key aspects of the Modern Order Management transformation initiative, leveraging your process expertise, facilitation skills, and solution knowledge to drive continuous improvement and modernization.
What You Will Do:
- Coordinates with product development engineers to track and communicate design, development, support, and maintenance problems and solutions.
- Identifies, documents, and reports design, reliability and maintenance problems and bugs. Gathers and consolidates feedback from customers and field staff.
- Coordinates with field support specialists and customers to address and resolve problems and expand product usage.
- Answers customer and field support questions; provides guidance for product integration and infrastructure issues.
- Support program management activities across the program that include communications, business unit engagement, roadmap maintenance, business process development and project reviews.
- Ensure alignment with overall program direction while advancing capability development
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in solution delivery
- Define business processes and document business requirements to be shared with our Caterpillar partners for solution development and execution
- Lead global cross functional project teams to improve order management processes and systems that can span multiple organizations.
- Conduct change management activities, including training, documentation and roles & responsibility definition
- Leverage technology to enable process efficiency, data analysis and process capability
- Work with peers on process integration opportunities; including Caterpillar Dealer and Supply Chain processes
- Support other Modern Order Management execution teams, including training and global update meetings.
- Leverage Lean thinking & methodologies
- Utilize multiple mediums of communication including email, presentations, meetings, instant messaging, Caterpillar social media, etc. to reach business partners
What You Will Have:
**Business Analysis:** Knowledge of business analysis and the set of tasks, techniques and tools required to identify business needs; ability to recommend solutions that deliver value to stakeholders.
**Decision Making and Critical Thinking:** Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
**Effective Communications:** Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
**Agile Executor:** Ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects of different sizes
Education requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Supply Chain or Marketing
Top candidates will also have:
+ Demonstrated experience with SAP ordering processes and template utilization
+ Progressive background in sales, marketing, and business development, with specialized expertise in order management, dealer operations, business process design, leadership, and project management
+ Familiarity with ordering systems, preferably those related to Caterpillar machine prime products, engines, parts, or work tools
+ General knowledge of Caterpillar’s organizational structure, product portfolio, policies, and procedures
+ Strong understanding of Caterpillar’s order management workflows and dealer network operations
+ Cross-functional experience across multiple business areas
+ Practical application of lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies
+ Proven ability to adapt and collaborate effectively across diverse cultures and international environments
Additional Information:
+ **Location Requirement** : Position is based in Peoria, IL with no relocation assistance provided
+ **Work Authorization** : Sponsorship is not available for this role
+ **Work Schedule** : On-site presence required five days per week
+ **Travel Expectation** : Up to 25% travel may be required
Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $204,720.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
