    Position Summary:

    The Financial Aid Analyst is responsible for providing, obtaining, processing, and packaging student financial aid information and coordinating the compiling of data for various financial aid programs. This position is governed by state and federal laws and institution policy.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    + Provide counseling and customer service representation for the Academic Partnerships program

    + Offer financial aid by processing applications, budgeting, packaging, adjusting, verifying data, and general advising to students

    + Provides assistance and other resources to potential and current students, staff, faculty, and off-campus agencies

    + Determine if a student is eligible based on hours of enrollment and GPA

    + Answer incoming phone calls

    + Correct over awards

    + Return Voicemails

    + Return Emails

    + Check Loan limits NSLDS

    + Process Extenuating Circumstance applications

    + Certify Private Loans

    + Reinstate Loans

    + Other duties as assigned

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures

     

    Knowledge of student financial aid programs, standards and procedures

     

    Knowledge of counseling and interviewing techniques

     

    Knowledge of principles and practices of money management

     

    Ability to review and evaluate student financial needs and prepare appropriate financial aid package

     

    Ability to disseminate information orally and in writing

     

    Ability to collect, analyze, compile, and record data on financial aid

     

    Ability to supervise the work of subordinates

    General Days/Hours:

    Monday - Friday

    8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

     

    Additional hours as requested and/or needed

    This position has been identified as a telecommuting position. The duties are performed during standard work hours of 8am-5pm at a predefined and approved work location. Individuals filling this role must have dedicated work space that provides privacy and security related to the work being performed. Additionally, individuals must have secure internet access with appropriate upload/download capabilities to perform the duties associated with the position. Individuals in this position will be required to review and acknowledge the

     

    Telecommuting Guidelines and Telecommuting Agreement for A-State.

     

    Location Requirement: To be considered for this position, candidates must reside in Arkansas or a state that shares a border with Arkansas (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Missouri, or Oklahoma. This residency requirement supports team collaboration, regional knowledge, and occasional in person engagement as needed.

     

    Knowledge of student financial aid programs, standards, and procedures; knowledge of counseling and interview techniques; ability to review and evaluate student financial needs; ability to multitask; excellent communication skills; experience with Microsoft Office products

    Minimum Qualifications:

    The formal education equivalent of an earned Bachelor's Degree with a major in general business or related field

     

    One (1) year of experience in student financial aid or related area

     

    Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or parts of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee
