The PenFed Foundation for Military Heroes is hiring a (Hybrid) Senior Manager, Marketing at our Tysons, Virginia location. The Senior Manager, Marketing role leads the development and execution of bold, cohesive, and mission-driven marketing strategies that amplify the Foundation’s voice, strengthens audience engagement, and drives support for our programs. This role will guide all visual, narrative, and digital communications to ensure alignment with the Foundation’s values, goals, and commitment to expanding the Foundation’s mission. The Senior Manager will develop a strategic marketing plan to grow awareness, inspire action, and build trust across diverse communities.

Marketing Strategy & Campaigns
+ Develop and oversee marketing strategies that reflect the Foundation’s mission, values, and voice.
+ Ensure messaging consistency across all channels and materials.
+ Design and execute multi-channel campaigns that promote events, programs, fundraising efforts, and awareness goals.
+ Analyze performance metrics and audience data to optimize messaging and reach.
+ Collaborate across departments to support program launches and initiatives with strong marketing strategies.
Content & Storytelling
+ Oversee content creation for web, social, video, print, and email marketing.
+ Shape a storytelling framework that highlights impact, donor support, community voices, and mission-driven results.
+ Manage the editorial calendar to ensure timely, compelling, and mission-aligned content.
Digital Presence
+ Oversee website strategy, user experience, and content updates.
+ Lead social media strategy to increase engagement and grow community.
+ Ensure marketing tools are optimized to advance the Foundation’s mission.
Leadership & Collaboration
+ Manage and mentor a team of designers and content creators.
+ Partner and collaborate with the Foundation’s Development, Programs, and Executive teams to align goals and messaging.
+ Serve as a key representative of the Foundation’s mission internally and externally.
Qualifications
Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
+ 10 years of experience in marketing or communications (nonprofit experience preferred).
+ Proven success in creating and managing integrated marketing campaigns.
+ Excellent written, visual, and verbal storytelling skills.
+ Strong understanding of audience segmentation, engagement strategy, and digital marketing tools.
+ Collaborative leadership style with experience managing stakeholders, creatives and partners.
+ Strong track record for delivering strategies with a passion for mission-driven work and social impact.
Preferred Skills:
+ Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or design software.
+ Familiarity with Mailchimp or other email platforms.
+ Experience with website building and content management platforms.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position will require supervisory responsibility of multiple staff members.
Licenses and Certifications
There are no additional certifications required.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.
*Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.*
Travel
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time is required.
