    Job Purpose

     

    The Senior HR Data & Insights Consultant is a critical member of the HR Analytics team that delivers analytical insights to inform strategic decisions, enable workforce planning, and enhance enterprise capabilities. This role operates at the intersection between our data product consumers and producers and is responsible for delivering insights on the state and health of the organization, modeling systems to predict outcomes and prescribe courses of action, and making recommendations to improve the associate experience. This role serves as a trusted partner to all business units, delivering analytical insights, integrating new data and new technologies, and informing courses of action to improve the organization.

    Essential Responsibilities

    + Executes on HR’s overall analytics strategy by leading the development and maintenance of descriptive, diagnostic, prescriptive, and predictive reporting and visualizations, using tools such as R, Python, Power BI and Tableau.

    + Applies best in-class data-analytic techniques (e.g., regression, decision trees, machine learning) to solve pressing business problems, enabling leaders to make better informed decisions.

    + Serves as a data curator, collecting data from a variety of sources, such as core HCM data, surveys, and industry benchmarks and synthesizing them into a compelling story capable of informing and influencing business decision-making.

    + Consults with HR and other leaders to understand business goals, translates those goals into metrics, determines project scope, identifies data requirements, and recommends reporting/visualization solutions.

    + Drives adoption of analytic tools by providing end-users with training on the proper use of available reporting/dashboards, and how to extract value and take action, utilizing the available information.

    + Conducts UX research with data product consumers to provide the analytics team with actionable insights on how to improve reporting, dashboards, and other output.

    + Operates within the Agile methodology and applies Agile principles to the development of analytic tools and visualizations.

    + Assists with quality control by cleaning, joining, updating, and refining data sets and engaging in testing and other QA activities.

    + Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    + Experience with one or more business intelligence/visualization tools, including Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik (or other similar program) is required.

    + Experience with one or more statistical tools, including R, Python (or other statistical software) and/or SQL, including complex, multi-table queries and reporting is required. Experience with cloud computing principles, including Microsoft Azure and Databricks is preferred.

    + Ability to translate business requirements into an appropriate analytic, reporting and/or visualization strategy.

    + Ability to appropriately apply and interpret the results of statistical analyses, business modeling, forecasting and/or simulation methods (e.g., linear and multiple regression, clustering and factor analyses, NLP, etc.). Ability to synthesize statistical findings into a compelling data story/narrative, capable of informing business leaders.

    + Experience with and basic knowledge of the Agile methodology.

    + Ability to conduct product design and UX research is preferred.

    + Ability to follow project plans and support projects through completion.

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    + Ability to write and interpret business requirements documents, technical designs and test plans.

    + Strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop professional relationships at all levels of the business.

    + Strong knowledge of data preparation and architecture best practices.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor's Degree in quantitative field (e.g., Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences) and/or equivalent experience required.

    + Master's Degree preferred.

    + 5+ years of experience conducting descriptive and predictive analytics and developing and deploying data products, with a track record of delivering excellent insights and driving outcomes in a complex organization required.

    + 5+ years of experience with business intelligence, data visualization and/or data storytelling software required. Power BI and/or Tableau preferred.

    + 5+ years of experience working with HR information systems data (e.g., Workday, SAP, ADP, Success Factors); Workday preferred.
