Virgin Galactic (VG) is seeking a Space Operations Maintenance Planner to support our commercial space operations department. The candidate must have a desire to learn, enthusiasm for the new space industry and be able to mix existing aerospace experience with Spaceline maintenance planning development. This is a full-time position located at Spaceport America, in New Mexico. Guided by our values, “Safety above All”, we proactively manage the risks inherent in human spaceflight through our daily actions in design, assembly, operations and maintenance efforts.
Responsibilities
+ Plans, schedules and coordinates a broad spectrum of flight vehicle’s scheduled, modification and non-routine maintenance work packages.
+ Plans and coordinates a broad spectrum of flight vehicle’s permanent/temporary relocation to other locations.
+ Maintain and track maintenance requirements per OEM inspection programs, ADs/SBs/SILs and existing maintenance programs.
+ Source, schedule and plan off-site and 3rd party maintenance vendors.
+ Defining, reviewing & updating the scope and task relationships of maintenance work packages.
+ Determine schedule & plan available resources for maintenance work packages.
+ Plan, track and update labor requirements/availability for maintenance work packages.
+ Create and update work package templates.
+ Maintain flight operations schedule in MRO Software.
+ Work with Space Operations Maintenance Controllers as required.
+ Assist in the development of space operations maintenance control and space operations maintenance planning positions.
Required Skills and Experience
+ Minimum 3 years line maintenance experience
+ Must be familiar with procedures applicable to the various phases of maintenance
+ Must display maturity of action and judgment
+ Must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
+ Good communication, organization and planning skills.
+ Proficient in MS Office Suite MS Project and Maintenance Tracking (MRO) Software
+ Experience on narrow body and/or business jet aircraft preferred
+ Must be able to obtain an AOA badge
+ To comply with ITAR Regulations, only US Persons (US Citizens or Permanent Residents) may apply
Preferred Skills and Experience
+ Associate's and/or Bachelor's related degree is preferred. Consideration will be given for equivalent operational leadership experience
+ Extensive experience in aircraft maintenance environments
+ Valid A&P License preferred
+ Willing to travel and be on-call

The annual U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $69,550.00–$100,925.00. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience and take into account internal equity. Other forms of pay (e.g., bonus or long term incentive) may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
