Eaton’s Aerospace division is currently seeking a Production Manager/ Site CI Coordinator. This position will be supporting the Irvine, CA manufacturing facility. This role will oversee both 1st and 2nd shift CI events at the site, with a variable schedule depending on site needs. The role will primarily align to 1st shift. The Irvine facility has approximately 150 employees and is the Headquarters for Eaton Aerospace. This site makes the parts that bring jet fuel to and through thousands of aircraft every day.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $107812.53 - $158125.04 a year.
What you’ll do:
Eaton Aerospace Group located in Irvine, CA has an opening for a hybrid position managing our Ground Fueling business’ High Performance Work Team as well as coordinating the site’s ECIS (Eaton Continuous Improvement System) efforts across the site. This position will be responsible for overall management of a manufacturing cell, focused factory, or work center. Overall responsibility for leading manufacturing team in achieving production schedule, product quality, product cost, and employee safety goals. Coordinates with all functional and service groups to meet customer requirements. Drives performance to achieve or exceed financial plans and strategic goals. Leverages resources to coach and motivates personnel to create high performance culture. Coordinate and support all CI activity at the site.
In this role you will:
Ground Fueling HPWT Manager
+ Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations.
+ Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
+ Review production and operating reports to assess performance indicators and take appropriate action to resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
+ Confer with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
+ Manages and directs all production activities and establish production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
+ Develops budgets and resource plans, and monitors performance, to achieve product delivery and cost requirements
+ Coordinate production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
+ Supports engineering during the design phase, providing factory capabilities and testability input into the design and new product introduction phase to ensure customer manufacturing delivery times are met.
+ Coordinates and assists with business initiatives, participating on teams in order to drive best practices across enterprise including but not limited to understanding, supporting, promoting and improving the processes that are followed in Eaton’s quality assurance initiatives and Environmental, Health, and Safety
Site ECIS Coordinator
+ Development/execution of strategic plans for implementation of ELS in facility based upon lean assessment.
+ Conduct training needs assessment associated with ELS and deliver training as required.
+ Leads or facilitates projects or events such as shop floor and Variation Reduction Kaizens.
+ Implements effective measurement tools associated with continuous improvement and cost out. Contributes heavily in the identification of cost-out ideas and implementation and standardization of operational change
+ Works with supplier development and quality organizations to ensure lean is deployed through the enterprise.
+ Co-establishes the cost reduction and operational performance targets and manage associated projects and their implementation
+ Manage by balanced scorecard productivity and quality improvements (Example: cost out, cycle time reduction, non-conformance management (rework, scrap and warranty), inventory reduction, manpower optimization/productivity, facility utilization, etc.)
+ Managing within established plant budgets (travel, training, etc.)
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
+ Five years’ experience in a manufacturing plant or operations environment
+ Minimum one year of leadership experience managing people or project teams
+ Minimum one year of leading CI activity in a manufacturing and/or office setting
+ Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
+ This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.
+ No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographical area will be considered for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or other related field, or equivalent experience.
+ Five years’ experience in a factory/manufacturing aerospace industry
+ Two years’ experience supervisory/managerial experience in a manufacturing or distribution function.
+ Involvement in successful process definition and re-engineering, a plus.
+ Experience in employee involvement in multi-discipline teaming, a plus.
+ Working knowledge of Quality standards and Continuous Improvement techniques.
+ Lean Certifications, Six Sigma Green belt (or higher)
Position Skillset Criteria:
• Ability to direct and lead cross-functional process improvement teams
• Knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic
• Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, scheduling, purchasing, inventory control, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (Six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to materials management
• Thorough Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes
• Knowledge of financial concepts and techniques utilized to establish value propositions of operational changes
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement techniques.
• Familiarity/experience with continuous improvement and Six Sigma methodology.
• Good technical writing and presentation skills.
• Good verbal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with computer-based methods and tools.
• Familiarity with SPC principles and methods
• Ability to work well with others in the areas of teamwork and communication.
• Ability to logically solve problems and to keep projects moving in an orderly and structured fashion.
