    Associate Counsel – Contracts & Regulatory Compliance

    About the Role:

    BayCare is seeking an Associate Counsel to serve as a trusted legal advisor, responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating corporate contracts, physician agreements, and other legal documents. This role supports internal customers across the health system, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations such as Stark Law and the Anti-Kickback Statute. The Associate Counsel manages a high volume of requests, provides practical legal guidance, and works closely with leaders at all levels to support strategic and operational goals. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent communication and customer service skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

    Your Role Within the Team:

    + Draft, review, and negotiate corporate contracts, physician agreements, and other legal documents.

    + Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, including Stark Law and the Anti-Kickback Statute.

    + Provide legal advice on physician transactions, alignment issues, and other healthcare regulatory matters.

    + Coordinate with internal departments and outside counsel on key contractual terms and conditions.

    + Develop and refine standard contract templates for use across the health system.

    + Advise on a broad range of legal and regulatory issues affecting the organization.

    + Manage a high volume of email and document requests while meeting deadlines.

    + Partner with leaders at all levels to support operational and strategic initiatives.

    Qualifications

    + **Education:** Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

    + **Licensure:** Active Florida Bar membership.

    + **Experience:** Minimum 2 years of post-JD legal experience.

    + **Healthcare** **Experience:** 1 year preferred.
