Emerson is looking for a Firmware Test Engineering Co-op for Spring or Fall 2026 to join our Marshalltown, IA team. This is an outstanding chance to gain real-world experience in a collaborative environment while working on projects that will truly make a difference. This position is a temporary 8-month co-op assignment from January 2026-August 2026 or May 2026-December 2026.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

+ Engage firmware team to interpret upstream requirements to design, document, and implement supporting validations

+ Perform project and product documentation in accordance to departmental and company procedures and standards

+ Collaborate with other members of the project team to deliver features that are implemented, tested, and documented

+ Design, assemble, and maintain test fixtures

Who You Are:

+ You balance planning with actions. You solicit both input and discussion. You focus on priorities and set stretch goals

For This Role, You Will Need:

+ Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university

+ Major(s): Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering

+ Ability to effectively work in a team environment

+ Ability to understand basic mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic systems

+ Strong analytical problem solving and decision-making skills

+ Programming experience in C#, C++, or similar object-oriented programming languages

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

+ Knowledge of common software test methods

+ Familiarity with continuous integration tools (TeamCity, Jenkins)

+ Experience with distributed version control

+ Experience with ARM embedded processor platforms

+ Commitment to full-time (40 hour) **Spring (Jan 2026- August 2026)** or **Fall (May 2026- December 2026)** Co-op experience in Marshalltown, IA.

+ Legal authorization to work in the United States. Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
