    The Problems You’ll Solve

     

    The National Service Program Coordinator will join four other program coordinators, and each will lead and support key elements of NYC Service’s national service NYC Civic Corps AmeriCorps program, reporting to the National Service Program Support Director. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

     

    Member and Host Site Management

     

    - Oversee approximately 30 AmeriCorps members serving at host sites across the City, supporting members throughout their service term.

     

    - Conduct in-person site visits and ensure member compliance with AmeriCorps procedures and processes.

     

    - Manage relationships with host site supervisors and NYC Service AmeriCorps members.

     

    - Manage aspects of the NYC Service AmeriCorps program compliance, including approving timesheets and submitting payroll bi-weekly.

     

    - Coordinate the monthly collection, reporting, and validation of metrics from AmeriCorps members and organizational partners.

     

    - Write elements of funding mid-term and final reports and provide program information support on grant funding requests, including collecting member testimonials.

     

    - Update existing and create new content for the member and supervisor handbooks, program manual, and NYC Service operations manual.

     

    - Manage aspects of program development and logistics for NYC Service AmeriCorps training and events, including leading and/or creating specific training for members.

     

    - Support supervisor orientation and training throughout the program year.

     

    - Facilitate monthly cohort calls and bi-weekly office hours for the AmeriCorps members you oversee.

     

    - Lead the selection process for members to become part of a member committee.

     

    - Coordinate and facilitate committee members' meetings to aid in the execution of committee projects.

     

    - Design and execute National Days of Service for members.

     

    Program Support

     

    - Support the program evaluation process for the NYC Civic Corps AmeriCorps program, including facilitating the RFP process, managing the vendor, supporting data collection, and selecting comparison groups and other participants.

     

    - Participate in the internal host site and member recruitment committee.

     

    - Support the host site recruitment process, including application review, member assignment description preparation, and conducting supervisor interviews.

     

    - Participate in the member recruitment process, including attending career fairs, conducting phone screens, and assisting in the matching process between applicants and host sites.

     

    - Support in the onboarding process by following up with accepted candidates to ensure they are completing required steps and preparing member folders for file audits for the upcoming program year, including member contracts, documents, and letters of service.

     

    - Facilitate the exiting process when members exit from the AmeriCorps program, including sending members' next steps and exiting them from the AmeriCorps system.

     

    - Support alumni engagement efforts.

     

    Advance NYC Service Mission, Values, and Goals

     

    - Represent NYC Service at select events.

     

    - Be available on select weekends and on select evenings for projects.

     

    - Provide project support with other service activities and programs, as needed, including emergency volunteer response.

     

    - Support City initiatives as needed, including but not limited to possible emergency response and recovery.

    - You have experience or comfort in individual counseling, problem-solving, and guiding others through complex circumstances.

     

    - You have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

     

    - You are capable of managing against goals and working under tight deadlines.

     

    - You have strong written and oral communication skills.

     

    - You have experience in relationship management.

     

    - You have strong computer skills.

     

    - You have excellent organizational and administrative skills.

     

    - You have the ability to work both independently and as an effective team member.

     

    - You have the ability to work beyond traditional working hours and schedules.

     

    - You have a sense of humor.

    Qualifications

    1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in administration, research, management, analytical work, community work or community activities; or

    2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of experience as described in "1" above; or

    3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and/or experience. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience in administration, research, management, analytical work, community work or community activities.
