Job Summary and Qualifications
The NICU dietitian functions within the multidisciplinary team to provide nutritional care for all infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The responsibilities of the NICU Dietitian will include (but not limited to):
+ Evidence-based execution of nutrition assessments, interventions, and education of staff and families. This includes weekly charting, growth analysis, TPN/Enteral nutrition order writing, and feeding education at discharge.
+ Participation in medical team rounding daily, interdisciplinary rounds weekly and discharge planning.
+ Development of policies and procedures in partnership with medical and nutrition services teams.
+ Participation in data collection and quality improvement projects.
+ Serving as a consultant to the entire healthcare team including neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, registered nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, social workers, and therapists in addition to outpatient providers as needed.
+ Collaboration with infant feeding preparation team to ensure accurate execution of nutrition for infants.
+ Interdisciplinary Committee involvement to improve patient care and outcomes.
+ Collaboration and reciprocal support with pediatric care team to aid with seamless continuity of care.
Position Requirements:
+ RDN (Registered Dietitian Nutritionist) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
+ Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in a NICU
+ CNSC (Certificated Nutrition Support Clinician) or CSP (Certified Specialist Pediatrics) preferred
+ Bachelor of Science or Arts and/or master's degree in food & nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited college or university
