The shift for this position is Monday - Thursday 9am - 2pm

Position Summary: Coordinates the Volunteer and Guest Services department. Provides leadership and organization to Guest Services by ensuring proper staffing and compliance within hospital guidelines. Provides support to Volunteer and Guest Services by Coordinating the Volunteer program and arranging recruitment, orientation, training and engagement for volunteers.

Responsibilities:

+ Demonstrates the ability to adapt technique/treatment to age of population served, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, while providing care/service with respect to cultural differences and spiritual needs.

+ Coordinates the Volunteer and Guest Services departments, including office organization to foster a positive work environment

+ Works closely with Community Relations Manager to develop Volunteer communication strategies and allocate available budget and resources to maximize organizational effectiveness

+ Coordinate monthly activities and events to promote positive a member experience, including Volunteer Gala, Volunteer Appreciation Month, and Monthly Volunteer Spotlight recognition

+ Coordinate writing and creation of Wesley Healthcare Volunteers newsletters and any supporting collateral materials

+ Works closely with Wesley Healthcare Volunteer board members for the continued growth and success of the volunteer program

+ Monitor and coordinate all necessary volunteer certifications to ensure compliance with corporate regulatory policies

+ Manages the volunteer timekeeping system and generates monthly volunteer tracking reports

+ Collaborates with department leaders to place volunteers where support is needed and maintaining accurate job descriptions for each location

+ Coordinates and maintains relationships with outside resources for continued Volunteer recruitment opportunities

+ Coordinates inter-department and USPS mail distribution, oversee delivery of patient flowers and mailings utilizing volunteer resources

+ Support admissions and information desks by ordering and maintaining a supply of hospital maps and other requested materials

+ Develops the volunteer program by recruiting, reviewing applications and arranging group interviews, scheduling employee health appointments, training, and orientation

+ Coordinate with pet therapy members to ensure their therapy animal is in compliance with animal licenses and shots

+ Accountable for all department specific records and certifications, as required

+ Consistently operates unit within established fiscal guidelines

+ Coordinates the improvement of operational functions of the department

+ Establishes and maintains effective and respectful communication in development of all collaborative relationships

+ Efficient in Office Products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook mail.

+ Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required

+ Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.

+ Possess personal computer skills.

+ Ability to multi-task, delegate and prioritize

+ Possess problem-solving and critical thinking skills

+ Associates degree in Business or related field preferred
