**This Nurse Residency (New to Specialty) program is open to RNs with at least 1 year of acute care RN experience**
Shift: Full Time Nights (7 pm), rotating weekends

Job Summary and Qualifications
The Registered Nurse as a Staff Nurse in Adult Critical Care performs the functions of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for patients. Meets Standards of Care and Standards of Practice. Supervises assigned personnel. Promotes collaboration with physicians and personnel of other departments. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients served. Demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth and development over life span and possesses ability to assess data reflective of patient status and interpret appropriate information needed to identify patient requirements relative to his/her age specific needs. Provides care needed as described in department policies and procedures. Completes a competency skills checklist within 3 months of employment.
+ Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
+ Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
+ Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.
+ Manages evidence-based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet and exceed quality measures and enhance the exceptional care provided to patients.
+ Manages the quality of care by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan that promotes and supports recovery.
What qualifications you will need:
+ Graduate from a school of nursing. Successful completion of basic critical care course or equivalent training for this hospital’s critical care course
+ One (1) year Critical Care experience preferred with successful completion of Critical Care Training Course
+ Current license to practice, as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada - Required
+ Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) - Required
+ Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Required
+ CCRN preferred.
