    Where You’ll Work

    This position is based in our Washington, D.C. office. We leverage a hybrid working model working three days in the office, two days optional remote work.

     

    What You’ll Do This new position will provide strategic direction for CHA’s independent, free-standing hospital members, pediatric service line hospital members, and specialty and international hospital members. Reporting to the Chief Learning & Member Experience Officer, the Director of Membership Experience will champion cross-functional collaboration to drive shared goals, including member recruitment, retention, engagement, and loyalty by building meaningful, value-based relationships, overseeing membership data, and leading initiatives that promote satisfaction, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across the Children’s Hospitals Association (CHA) network.

     

    + Leads the membership experience for free-standing, independent hospitals, pediatric service lines, and specialty and international hospitals, ensuring value delivery through access to program.

    + Builds and empowers a responsive, insights-driven customer relations team that enhances the overall member experience.

    + Collaborates with peer associations to share best practices, advance healthcare association initiatives, strengthen industry relationships, and represent CHA at industry conferences and leadership forums.

    + Responsible for budget planning, recommendations, and tracking for the independent, free-standing hospitals, pediatric service lines, and specialty and international hospital members.

    + Works closely with executive leadership team and other departments to identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and ongoing relationship-building efforts.

    + Serves as the primary point of contact for independent, free-standing member hospitals, building trust-based relationships with executive leaders and understanding their unique needs, strategies, and challenges.

    + Conducts regular check-ins and engagement site visits/virtual meetings to assess satisfaction, communicate value, and identify new areas for collaboration.

    + Works closely with the Public Affairs team to promote and provide best practices on advocacy for children’s health and children’s hospitals priorities.

    + Facilitates registration of members for services as well as examining and growing the new involvement of members.

    + Partners with internal teams ensuring member feedback and engagement strategies align with broader organizational goals.

    + Serves as a key connector between revenue-generating teams and member hospitals, promoting CHA’s full suite of services through strategic cross-selling, upselling, and engagement efforts.

    + Facilitates forums that align with each hospital group.

    + Manages staff responsible for maintaining and updating contact and organizational records within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and alignment across internal platforms.

    + Sets strategy for how to leverage the CRM and analytics tools to synthesize member insights, support strategic decisions, and develop reports that demonstrate impact and identify improvement opportunities.

    + Manages the reporting on member participation, service usage, and overall engagement trends using the CRM.

    Required Experience:

    What You’ll Bring to CHA

    Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

    + Master’s degree in Health Administration, Science, Business Administration or related field preferred

    + Minimum of five years of experience in an association or comparable organization with healthcare or pediatrics required

    + Minimum of two years demonstrated leadership experience and results in executive-level projects and communication is required

    + Demonstrated ability to manage individuals and teams

    + Strong strategy development skills

    + Strong project management and facilitation skills

    + Ability to prepare and present information in varied mediums

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    + Ability to travel up to 30%

    More About CHA

    This pay range shown is a guideline. Min: $106,000 Max: $194,000 Compensation is based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
