General Summary:
Unum Group seeks Business Programming Consultants in Portland, ME.

Automation & Optimization
+ Develop and maintain complex workflows in Prisma.
+ Optimize current data processes for efficiency.
+ Handle formats like AFP, JCL, and PDF to process information and integrate into the system.
Consulting & Analysis
+ Analyze business requirements and processes for technical improvements.
+ Document technical and functional requirements.
+ Recommend software solutions aligned with technical needs.
+ Manage sensitive data and resolve related technical tasks.
Software Development & Customization
+ Design, develop, and maintain software using Bash, Python, C#, and other tools.
+ Write efficient, maintainable code.
+ Integrate software with existing systems via APIs.
+ Perform testing, debugging, and optimization to deliver reliable solutions.
+ Conduct code reviews.
Feature Prioritization and Roadmap Planning
+ Manage product backlog and prioritize features.
+ Develop user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria for product features.
Data Analysis
+ Analyze datasets for actionable insights.
+ Perform statistical analysis to support technical decisions.
+ Present findings using reports and dashboards.
Strategic Technical Insights
+ Implement technical solutions based on business strategies.
+ Apply process improvements and digital transformation strategies.
Collaboration & Project Management
+ Collaborate with IT, business units, and third-party teams to execute technical projects.
+ Develop and implement project plans with clear timelines and deliverables.
+ Execute technical tasks within scope, budget, and timeline.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field such as CIS – Computer Information Systems plus 3 years of related experience. Requires 3 years of experience with the following: Enterprise Tools: Canon Prisma Production, BCC Architect, ProDesigner, Putty, DocumentDirect / Mobius, Content Cloud (Systemware), Control-M; Programming & Scripting: Bash, Python, C#, .Net, SQL; Web Development / Tools: Websites, RESTful APIs, Git, Visual Studio; Operating Systems: Windows Server, Suse Linux, Mainframe: IBM z/OS; Formats Tools: AFP, JCL, PDF, JPEG; Encryption & Security: PGP keys, SSH management; BI / Reporting Tools: Tableau, Power BI, Excel, Lucid; Enterprise tools such as document management systems, production workflows, and enterprise scheduling tools. Programming and scripting languages, including developing applications, automating tasks, and managing databases; Web development, including creating and maintaining websites, building RESTful APIs, and utilizing version control systems. Operating systems, including managing Windows Server environments, Linux distributions, and mainframe systems; Working with file formats and tools used for document processing, job control, and image handling. Encryption and security practices, including key management and secure communication protocols.
5% domestic travel to team/vendor meetings. 100% telecommuting permitted.
40 hours/week; $103,938 - $113,938 per year. This wage range supersedes the base salary range listed below, due to the salary range below reflecting a national range.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$75,500.00-$142,700.00
Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
