    Accounting Manager – Government Contract Support (Consultant Role)

    **Location:** Lake County, IL (Hybrid options may be considered)

    **Contract Type:** Consultant / Temporary Assignment

    **Industry:** Government Contracting / Food & Logistics Services

    **Pay Rate:** $40 -$45/hour

     

    Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional with experience in government contracts? Jefferson Wells is supporting our client in this critical role to ensure compliance with a large-scale federal contract.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.

    + Manage tri-monthly billing packets and A/R invoicing.

    + Deliver monthly and annual financial reports.

    + Develop annual budgets, cost proposals, and quarterly forecasts.

    + Ensure accurate invoicing via the Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) system.

    + Supervise accounts payable functions.

    + Validate and process bi-weekly staffing agency payroll invoices.

    + Create and maintain financial reports and spreadsheets for internal departments.

    + Perform other duties as assigned to support contract compliance and financial operations.

    Ideal Candidate Profile:

    + Proven experience managing billing cycles and government invoicing.

    + Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.

    + Familiarity with federal contracts, especially in food procurement or logistics.

    + Experience with WAWF, D365, or Prophix is a plus.

    + Understanding of federal audit processes and compliance standards.

    + Leadership capability and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
